Seriously, all you people bashing David A. by saying he has no talent just come off as worried or jealous. Your words will have more impact if there's a grain of truth to him.
This year's performers all have strengths and weaknesses. Cook is a great performer and his voice is strong and gritty- perfect for the rock world. I'm sure he'll have great success and I'm happy for him.
Jason has a great personality that fits his funky style. I have downloaded plenty of his songs, and I'll be interested in his career. Wouldn't be surprised to see him pop up on my TV screen again, very soon.
Carly had a gorgeous, haunting voice and I downloaded a few of her songs. I think she'll have the career she wants.
But my favorite, Archuleta, is unique and, to my ear, quite gifted. I have every one of his songs, play them constantly and will buy the CDs and attend the concerts. I think he's on his way to an amazing career. No, I'm nowhere near 12, go up a couple dozen years, but thanks for asking.
Bashing is bashing and it's normally done by very young kids so it's a moot point responding to most of it.
David A. is young and does have a bright career in front of him, most of the complaints he gets is he is 'boring' and there is a lot of validity to that comment. The people that like him (regardless of your age), don't see it and thats fine, but it does not mean it's not a valid comment. He sings ballads and thats cool with me, I like him! but he just has no dynamic to his performances yet and regardless of what his die-hard fans think it is a very big part of being an entertainer. If he could elevate his stage presence this would not be a competition at all because he would seriously burry the rest of them… his voice is just that good.
Jason… yeah… sorry I struggle liking him… his vocals are very weak. Tone pitch, range are all poor

I am a big fan of Jason Castro but to be honest it sucks to admit that I don't think he stands a chance against the David's. The 3 of them are all good in their own unique way but David Cook is a well rounded guy & David Archuleta has all of the young girls texting 20 times each every week. I will be at Target though the day Jason's cd comes out. Oh yea, Syesha is still in the running too right? Peace girl, your out this week!
I feel the same! Jason is my favorite. But he probably doesnt stand a chance up against the 2 David's. I like them as well, they are both good singers. Also, Im hoping and praying its Syesha's last week, I really want the 3 guys in the top 3. Syesha has been improving each week and she is good, but never has been one of my favorites.............
Jason is our favorite too! He is the most real. I like his voice and I remember his songs. I can't wait to buy his music. He's the only one who has a chance of becoming truly good for years to come.

Well, I have news for you, Im 39 years old and a huge fan of Jason Castro. Not just teeny boppers like him. He does have charm and a sweet personality and a nice voice. I'm hoping he'll be in the final 3 with the 2 David's. Now do I think he'll win the whole thing? Probably not, it will more than likely be one of the David's.
1st off congrats on being 39! I also have news for you, I never figured that only 'teeny boppers' liked him. I realize… like I said, that he is a good looking guy and his shy, boyish smile would swoon the hearts of the opposite sex...

Cause you know… you have spent time with him, got to know him intimately and are making that comment from 1st hand knowledge and not just cause of his daft smile and 30 second edited comments he makes.
Again… I will give you the fact that he has a 'nice' voice, but he is sooooo out sung at this point it's laughable.
Of course I realize there are better singers, I think both David's are better singers overall. Thats why I said probably at best Jason will come in 3rd place. Sorry if I offended you, it just seems that most boards I go to most people mention about Jasons fanbase being young teen girls. I just wanted to point out that's far from the case. Of course I can only go by what I see on tv and from interviews etc. He appears to be charming, yes. And nice looking, etc. I wasnt stating that I knew him personally.

Most of Jason's fan base are tween - 25 girls, it's American idols Demographic sweet spot, he is beaten badly in that demographic by Mr David A. that has a very firm choke hold on that demographic. We all know that there are out of demographic voters, moms, woman, men, talented dogs and cats... okay maybe not them but generally speaking the majority of idols demographic is tween.
He has a jack johnson laid back feel to him and seems to have a care free attitude that is appealing, but Carly and Michael Johns had him out-sung easily, just not out-voted, and that's all that matters on idol >.>

You my friend are a very sad excuse for a person. He is 17 and he sings very well. The other contestants will be flops, other than david cook, who needs to not win this competition if he wants to get a recording contract that will allow him to do things his way. David Archuleta is young and just needs a jump start into the profession so he would make the best winner.
You don't get David Archuleta's singing then. That is fine, but please go make positive comments on the contestant you want to win.

2. 12 and looking to get a rise out of people

having said that… someone does not need to be a musician or have taken vocal lessons in order to appreciate music the last I checked.
David A. nor David Cook need American Idol at this point, booth will do very well at this point… as for Idol being 'fixed' and such…
Think of it this way, Idol has a contract with you when you are a complete nobody that states should you make it to top 5 or whatever you will stay an with AI and tour / record for them for 1 year after winning… now enter say sony records comes to idol and says 'I will buy your contract on cook and make him a star' BOOM the next idol is DAVID A.!
It's all about the 'jingle' not the talent, not the votes. Corporate America would sell you out twice as fast as the government would >.> and that's fast

The top two out of the final four include David Cook as well as David Archuleta.
It is looking more and more like it will be Cook and Archuleta in the final two positions as they will head into the final show.
It is looking like it will be the rocker Cook facing off against the pretty-boy Archuleta. It should be interesting to see how it all turns out, and is Paula Abdul can remember who the heck is actually singing.
But Archuletha soo in for this year title....while Cook can sell his cd.........

I understand... but David A is original. Even when he sings ballads or any other kind of music, its not JUST a ballad or music... it's an amazing original piece of music that doesn't compare to any other singer.
All i was saying is that David C. isn't that original and sounds like other singers already out there in the music industry. That's why we need someone original like David A.
And it was just an opinion and I'm not trying to tear David cook down b/c i know he's talented... but there is already enough of them already out there.
Whoever thinks David A. is better than David Cook is insane. American Idol has never had such a talented contestant on the show. He can flat out sing anything and has a beautiful voice. David A. is constantly gasping for air as if he was going through some sort of asthma attack and looks so awkward singing upbeat songs. His last 2 performances were both upbeat and I had to close my eyes because they were corny and weird. To top it off the guy can't even interview well.. it's beyond embarrassing. He has a robotic personality and isn't a good performer. David Cook is the whole package and DESERVES to win the whole thing.

David A is totally gross. It is beyond me how the judges continue to say he is stealing the show, he is so terrible and awkward. I can't stand his breathing, or his squinty eyes, or his song choices, or the way he thanks the judges afterwards like he can't believe what they are saying. HOW is he still on this show?!?!

You guys are funny. Reguardless of who wins, they will both get contracts. David Archuleta is amazing, especially for how young he is, and David cook is also. There is a spot in the chris daughtry genre and David Cook will fill that. David Archuleta is going to have to not only fill his musical life but he is going to have that new King of Tween heartthrob lifestyle going for him as well, so ultimately David Archuleta will probably have a more successful carreer.

A former talent scout's opinion: Syesha's issue is, while she has a great "Whitney Houston" voice, she struggles with other genres. Jason Castro, well, has a nice voice (as do all the final 12, in their own way), but can't hang with the three other contestants left.
David Archuleta has a very well developed and versatile voice that is only going to improve with age, so from my standpoint, has the most potential for stardom.
David Cook has a great voice and has more ability to cross genres than the other contestants left, but seems to be much more comfortable in the rocker-dude role. It will be interesting to see how he does with showtunes.
Right now, I'd most like to represent Archuleta, with Cook right behind him.... big bucks, big bucks.
