ok Jason needed to go home! I cant believe Brooke went home before Jason did. He did the same stuff over and over again, unlike Brooke, and David Cook who bring originality and charisma to the stage. America: Please dont make a mistake, vote for David Cook, I mean seriously Archileta is bland, I mean he has a great voice, but he isnt going to have a hit single like Jordin Sparks so, quit focusing on his looks and focus on his voice and any future he might have being a singer.

pamela (not verified) Fri, 2008-05-09 10:52

don't make so much fuss about david a's age. of course david c is way much older and more experienced but ai chose the age limit from 16 to 29 so that means they believe that young people have talent like the older ones. he won't be on the top 3 if he has no talent at all. this is not a talent show it is a singing competition. if you feel david c has vocals then lets just wait who's going to win the ai. i go for david a. and that is my opinion.

Ronald (not verified) Thu, 2008-05-08 23:43

DAVID ARCHULETA is destined to be the Greatest & Most Popular American Idol of All Time.

Anna Teo (not verified) Fri, 2008-05-09 01:02

I agree that David Archuleta has the best vocal. His songs touch me like no others ever did and that is what singers should be doing .... making listeners happy and enjoying it.

Lots of people just dont know what music!!! is all about. They just look at the book without reading its covers. American idol is all about best vocal performance........not how they all look or how ugly they are....its all about connecting with their kind of music.Tobe an american idol its just.......music......music music.

cool band (not verified) Thu, 2008-05-08 22:18

DAVID ARCHULETA!!!!!!! Star of he show.....good humble boy with a very good heart. Concentrating and connecting with his kind of music. If you BELIEVEyou will win....love your sound of music especially ANGELS. DAVID A. you are the angel. GOD BLESS YOU !

Syesha needs to get out of the competion totally useless and not a singer she should be in the braying competion and is definitely not an AMERICAN IDOL>

say goodbye to Syesha and have an American Idol Singing Competion not a popularity contest.

sandi smith (not verified) Thu, 2008-05-08 18:01

get rid of Syesha

danny_s (not verified) Thu, 2008-05-08 08:34

david cook is the best. he has taken songs arraneged by other artist but he has done them his own way. there is no way to david cook sang the songs exactly like someone else arranged them. he did say he found some arrangements online. its still his voice and rendition. i love the way he sings and his voice. i dont think either of the other two even compare. he will have a recored deal even if he doesnt get american idol. i will deffinately have his first album. i think he has songs he has written ready to be put on an album. he is just so good.

idol_us08 (not verified) Thu, 2008-05-08 06:06

Davie boy was pretty good last night, but really, it's as if the judges were preprogrammed to drool over him regardless of what he did. They didn't cream over Kelly Clarkson the way they did with David, and no offense, but he eats her dust.

"Idol" has its mitts on the recording contracts of the winners. So is this about talent, or that David is more commercial and has a longer shelf life? We're just askin'.....

idol_us08 (not verified) Thu, 2008-05-08 06:02

David Archuleta is the perfect American Idol. He is a winner that will rise to the top. He most definitely has the talent. He is cute and appeals to young girls. (I could not help but think of Donny Osmond's "Puppy Love" as he sang "Love Me Tender" with such innocence.) Most importantly, he is very pliable: perfect for 19 Entertainment. Archuleta does need to work on using the stage, but he takes instruction very easily and will become a master performer.

The votes will continue to pour in for David Archuleta as he is a favorite not only for young girls willing to spend hours dialing in, but for those who appreciate a quality singer.

David Archuleta looks like the ideal winner — a young boy with a big voice, who has a video clip that shows how he sang for Season 1 winner Kelly Clarkson, and who sang “America,” a performance that practically shouts, “Vote for ME, America!”

Not that this will surprise anyone, but David Archuleta has to be considered the front-runner after all three judges praised his vocal prowess and he blew away the competition with his renditions of "Love Me Tender" and "Stand By Me" during Rock & Roll Hall of Fame week.

David Archuleta, the 17-year-old on the show, has the ability and talent to become American Idol's 2008 winner. This gentle, young man, it is said, has overcome partial vocal paralysis without resorting to risky surgery. Challenges seem to be right up his alley. And he isn't proudly trying to remind us all of it, either; he just graciously takes his "rightful" place on stage and gives us his all.

He presents himself very well in front of a crowd and why wouldn't he? He is no stranger to the stage and ironically seems to have begun his performance career at only 10 years old in Utah singing a Dolly Parton song called, "I Will Always Love You."

With all the confidence of a seasoned singer, this 17-year-old stares straight into the camera and hugs you with those innocent eyes. His fans feel it and are lulled into near silence when he begins to sing, only breaking out into the "I Love You David" chorus when there is an opening for them to be heard.

GO DAVID ARCHULETHA............

PRECIOUS 5/24 (not verified) Thu, 2008-05-08 04:19

TO ALL OF YOU PEOPLE THAT PUT DAVID ARCHULETA DOWN TIME AFTER TIME AFTER TIME.
IF HE IS SO BORING........WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE FOR HIME TO NOT TO BE BORING PERHAPS STRIP?????? MAYBE THEN HE'LL SURPRISE YOU ALL. HE IS A SOULFUL SINGER AND HE TRYS HIS BEST TO ENTERTAIN UN FRONT OF MILLIONS AND MILLIONS OF PEOPLE WHO WATCH HIM. HE DOES COME UP WITH HIS OWN ARRANGEMENTS......UNLIKE DAVID COOK THAT IS A COPYCAT.
THE GUY IS ONLY 17 THE YOUNGEST EVER TO STAY ON FOR SO LONG.......BESIDES JORDAN SPARKS THAT WON LAST YEAR. IF THEY DIDN'T THINK HE WASN'T GOOD THAN HE WOULD HAVE VOTED OFF A LONG TIME AGO.

mmmmyeah (not verified) Thu, 2008-05-08 07:13

1. All caps very annoying.
2. Sentence structure horrible.
3. Fairly certain if a 17 year old little boy stripped on live television there would be a dew people sued and fired… funny! but no.
4. You are confused, it is David Cook that comes up with his own arrangements, that's kinda why the judges and TV personalities keep praising him on it. You need to pay attention, you not getting enough sleep at night?
5. I think you will find that most people (anyone with an IQ), will agree that young David A. can sing up a storm with that voice of his. He is simply not dynamic. Now you might defend that by saying he sings balads… fair enough, he is also not charasmatic yet nor does he have coordination or 'sex appeal' to pull off the deep emotive feel when he performs. He will, he just needs to grow.

You are most likely young yourself (just an assumption), but it's actually not even a fair comparison when you take someone as young as D.A. and put him against David C. and it has nothing to do with singing. A 20 year old is more comfortable with themselves and their sexualtiy and are able to express themselves better. Sorry. Just the way it is.

longlists Fri, 2008-05-09 01:44

Amen!! Thank you!!!

Shantina Thu, 2008-05-08 22:57

i totally agree with you!
That girl is so confused, maybe because she's just a kid considering the way she constructed her sentences.

alchristine (not verified) Thu, 2008-05-08 13:58

I completely agree with your critique. I had to read and reread the above comment to try and comprehend her thoughts due to the terrible sentence structure.

The stripping comment was completely immature and irrelevant.

David A. just doesn't have the poise, charisma, and the confidence that David C. has. David A. needs to come back in like 5 years when he knows who he is and can portray himself in his music. I think at that time he will appeal to a larger market of fans. His age and adolescent fan base will be a kiss a death. We will be watching him on one of those where are they now specials in like 5 years. His fan base will grow up and he will be another new kid on the block.

Touche! Nicely put. One of the very few responses here that I can read and not think someone is going to come through the screen and get me for my opinion. That is a joke of course but I think you get what I'm saying.

Anony (not verified) Wed, 2008-05-07 23:28

boring season...

It must be David vs David finale - so what? so predictable from final 7 or 8. They have been judges' and producers' favorites from the final 12.

David C - maybe the best this season, but fakish. His early arrangements that built his image were all from others - if bloggers did not raise the issue, the producers might have ignored them. His own arrangement? well -- not like the early ones. He is now even dipping... nothing new no creativity. It is clear that he really wants to be an american idol.

David A - nice voice, good attitude, young girls' and grandma's favorite. but his singing is still one-dimensional. no feeling, no emotion, no soul.

Syesha - nice voice, finally she found herself - but too late. just good decoration for Davids set by producers.

nothing exciting any more. probably end of AI for good...

azrieltroyzac Sun, 2008-05-11 01:18

duh...AI will stay for sure...who are you anyway to say that...you're just a dot in this planet...get real...

Go Archuleta!!!

lucascarretta Wed, 2008-05-07 22:06

David Cook is the best!!!!!!!!!
he rocks in all world!!!!
and he is THE American Idol!!!!

Syesha Mercado can be the second place, but David Archuleta NO, he is dull and boring.
he is so young to be the American Idol, first he grow up than he can think in this

this is my opinion........

DAVID COOK THE NEXT AMERICAN IDOL!!!!!!!!!!

rudy1992 Wed, 2008-05-07 21:37

I think that David Archuleta has a good voice. He is just so boring.

hearrtttt (not verified) Wed, 2008-05-07 21:34

Syesha does not deserve to be in the finals. Its david and david. coz both of them have presence and charisma on stage plus a good voice. you already voted JASON out who was the most appealing and unique. I just dont think Syesha deserves this coz she's too full of herself. In the whole competiton she hasnt acknowledged anyone but herself.

JasoncastroruleSTILL (not verified) Thu, 2008-05-08 16:04

Your right. Jason was the most unique amazing guy on there. I did not want him to win because they would change him into a "pop star" and he would be on contract for like 3 years. But I did want him in the top 3 because I wanted to see him go home for the celebration.. Oh well. At least he was VERY happy with where he was. I was so glad to see him sing that last song like that. He was so animated! I loved it!! I can't wait for the tour where I can be up close to him!!

Lorie (not verified) Wed, 2008-05-07 21:53

I think you're being unfair. Syesha has a great voice, she's a very good performer and she really shows that she cares about this contest. I enjoy listening to her because she brings not only talent but also good energy.

I used to be very fond of Jason but after seeing that week after week he does nothing but the same it's... neither interesting nor special. I think he can sing -and he sings very well- but he doesn't seem to really care about this contest, he doesn't put any passion on what he does, he gives me this "whatever" impression. I'm glad he's out.

And back to Syesha, I think she's very sweet and professional, and I think she's one of the humblest contestants.

Anyway..... I think David Cook will win. He's awesome not only because he's a great performer but because he is a clear example of the difference between a good singer and an artist.

Smiling

colorado (not verified) Wed, 2008-05-07 21:06

I agree. David A. is dull and boring. He seems a little too innocent and naive. I would not buy an album by David A. because all of the songs are boring. I know he will be in the top 2 because of all of the little 14 year old girls voting, but he shouldn't be.

detaylor Wed, 2008-05-07 20:32

a lot of people are voting for david archie and David cook and not reading between the lines. David Archie is young and can go anywhere and make a good deal. i dont think it is fair what american idol voters are voting for. The are voting for popularity not talent. David Cook can sing, Syesha can sing but trust me David can sing too, but all is song start to sound the same week after week, American voters need to vote to put david c and syesha in the top two to battle out the title. not archie he is young and not ready for the exposure.

GET IT RIGHT PEOPLE

Top two syesha and david c

Justin (not verified) Wed, 2008-05-07 21:01

I couldn't agree more. I REALLY REALLY REALLY like David Archuleta- a lot. HOWEVER, based on the fact that the other 2 seem to be trying harder to win and the fact that Archuleta has been consistent, yet somehow boring for weeks now, I think Syesha and Cook would be a great finale! I won't get my hopes up though. Because I was aiming: Syesha: top 3! She did it, I'm happy, the order now...doesn't quite matter. Just plain preference. So, it'd be great, but also chances are unlikely unless people really vote, so... if Syesha does go home next week...no biggie... I will just have rather seen her in the finals.

Shantina Thu, 2008-05-08 23:06

i like you, at least you are mature enough to admit that David A., although he has a good voice, is not at par with the talent of David C.
Unfortunately, the judges are programmed to give him good reviews just so they will retain the good number of viewers. But in their heart, they know how limited the talent of David A. is.
