First time American Idol judge Keith Urban has commented on his fellow judges, likening them to a dysfunctional family.
The supposed “feud” between Idol judges Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj has provided plenty of taking points prior to the premiere of the new season and for the most part Urban has been silent on the topic.
However, during the live Q&A event this week in Los Angeles, Urban mentioned how he loves the unpredictability that Carey and Minaj bring to the show.
When asked what his favourite part of the Idol experience has been so far, he said: “The dysfunctional family you see before you, I love being part of. I love the unpredictability.”
When Ryan Seacrest then attempted to bring up the subject of the “feud”, Minaj tried to cut him off.
“Ryan, stop!” she said.
Seacrest continued: “Keith, he was glad his chair swivelled a couple of times this year!”
Minaj said of Urban: “He’s hilarious. I’m serious, you guys. He has this dry sarcastic humour. Very quick!”
Carey piped up: “It relieves you of a moment sometimes.”
Urban:: “Moving on!”
