I'm wondering if the producers of American Idol are deliberately trying to keep Kristy Lee Cook in the competition now as tonight is likely to suit her quite nicely.
Last week it was Chikezie who walked after he rediscovered boredom in his performance. Who will it be tonight? With
Dolly Parton handing out the directions it could be anyone of them!
Did you know that Dolly Parton has written more than 3000 songs?
If you haven't already, why not join one of our Office Pools on the right and see if you can pick who is going and who is staying.

Here is tonight's recap:

Brooke White

The timing is all off in this song. Perhaps it's the audience clapping along but it sounds painful. Vocally it's not too bad but there are moments where my nose was screwed up. The fault seemed shared between Brooke and her backing vocalists.
Randy: "I definitely think this music can suit your voice. Some pitch problems but it was alright."
Paula: "You are Brooke White. Excellent and wonderful"
Simon: "It looked like you were busting you way through the song and I thought all of you looked very odd together, you know, the weird violin player. Someone who is better in the shade. It wasn't one of your better performances."

David Cook
Original:
Little Sparrow
Pre-Order David's version here
or the video here

This sounds really good. David seems to be really making a statement that he is here to win American Idol this year. Another great performance.
Randy: "You're a rocker but you've been showing your range. Once again another hot, consistent performance."
Paula: "I like your haircut. Let me tell you something, I've never heard a guy sing that song. Fantastic! It shows how well rounded you are."
Simon: "Not as good as last week, but if you can make a song about sparrows sound good, you deserve it."

Ramiele Malubay
Original:
Do I Ever Cross Your Mind
Pre-Order Ramiele's version here
or the video here

Ramiele is really starting to run the risk of going home a lot early than most pundits would have expected as she keeps picking bad songs. She needs a real statement song for the show and we're yet to see it.
Randy: "I wasn't jumping up and down. It was kinda alright. 6.5 out of 10."
Paula: "I'm proud of you, I think you had a great minute and 30 seconds."
Simon: "We're not gonna remember this in 10 years. It was cute, forgettable, something reminiscent of what you'd hear on a cruise ship."

Jason Castro
Original:
Travellin' Thru
Pre-Order Jason's version here
or the video here

Interesting song choice. I thought it was a little reminiscent of Jack Johnson actually.
Randy: "I thought it started a bit rough, think you picked it up by the middle. It was pretty good."
Paula: "This was one of your strongest performances. You were confident and it was great."
Simon: "I didn't like that at all. I didn't think you sang it particularly well and I wouldn't get it if this had been the first time I had seen you or heard you."

Carly Smithson
Original:
Here You Come Again
Pre-Order Carly's version here
or the video here
1-866-43657-05
That was a better performance by Carly but she still bores me to sleep.
Randy: "That will probably be one of the better performances of the night."
Paula: "Carly, that was glorious. That voice of yours! And you look great."
Simon: "I thought it was good but not great, Sorry. I also think that you've got to have a word with whoever is dressing you at the moment. You've got to start looking like a star at this point."

David Archuleta
Original:
Smokey Mountain Memories
Pre-Order David's version here
or the video here

Another sleepy song from David Archuleta. I'm seriously beginning to wonder if this boy knows what fun is.
Randy: "Guess what baby. David A is back tonight and I stand corrected. That was the best performance of the night."
Paula: "You're glorious."
Simon: "This week, absolutely on the money."

Kristy Lee Cook
Original:
Coat of Many Colors
Pre-Order Kristy's version here
or the video here
1-866-43657-07
Well at least she looks hot this week but Kristy Lee Cook is no Carrie Underwood.
Randy: "Country music is definitely your wheelhouse. This is the Kristy Lee week."
Paula: "You look stunning and you gave a beautiful performance."
Simon: "I thought last week was your best performance but this week was pleasant but forgettable"

Syesha Mercado
Original:
I Will Always Love You
Pre-Order Syesha's version here
or the video here
1-866-43657-08
Despite having had two great weeks, this really was a talk order for Syesha and despite her long, drawn out note at the end, I really don't think this will pay off for her.
Randy: "You took on the biggest tiger of the night, and I think you did pretty good."
Paula: "Your voice has a velvety tone. That's it for you. You're connecting with the audience so much more."
Simon: "This is one of the best pop songs ever written. The first part was good. The second part paled by comparison to the Whitney version. It was a good but not fantastic version of the song."

Michael Johns
Original:
It's All Wrong But It's All Right
Pre-Order Michael's version here
or the video here
1-866-43657-06
Michael also seems to be cementing himself as a real contender for the title this year. He's growing nicely and bringing out some great performances every week.
Randy: "Check it out baby, you keep on bringing it up a notch every week."
Paula: "They're great melodies, Dolly's amazing, you're a rockstar, a blues star, and you look gorgeous."
Simon: "I think this is the best I have heard you sing yet."
Despite this being a country show there weren't too many overly country performances.
Tonight's bottom three for me would have to be Syesha Mercado, Kristy Lee Cook and Brooke White.
I guess we'll see what happens with the results tomorrow night. Till then...
DAvid A. looks like a gay on stage when he performs. Watch his hands and movements... obviously a gay. This AI seasons is definitely the gaying of 'em all, but one by one they were illiminated..let's see if David A. Stays.
Yeah Mrs or Mr negitive, acually watch american idol for once and acually pay attention to the show Stupid Ass Bitch!
Fo Sho homie balonie
peace out puta or puto
David Cook hospitalized
American Idol contestant, David Cook, was rushed to the hospital due to heart palpitations and high blood pressure. Producers wanted him to go to the emergency room before the show ended, but David wanted to stay until it was over. He is at the hospital now, condition unknown.
Shesha Mercad is next to go....you can write it down on your diary
Ramiele might be in the bottom 3 but safe.
This not my opinion..but from a scientific sources...and they are always right
Ramiele has got to go.
Omg, Dolly Parton was so wonderful! You forget how good Dolly is until you see and then you fall in love all over again. What an amazing lady.
I really think the judges didn't do justice on Syesha. She has a very nice, strong, and controlled voice and I think she did the song way better than Whitney.
oops! good spotting Watson
The number you have listed for Brooke White on this page is incorrect. It say's 05 but should be 01.
