The Top 16 of The X Factor USA - Live blog

After a 40 minute delay thanks to the rain interrupted Cardinals vs Giants, The X Factor is finally going to air.

Tonight we find out who the judges have chosen to make their top 4 for the live shows.

First up tonight is Britney Spears and the Teen category.

First up to learn their fate is Diamond White.  I can't believe Britney won't take her.  Thankfully I'm right and she is the first one through to the Live shows.

Carly Rose Sonenclar is up next and I like her but I'm not sure she can win.  She is through though.

Next up is Arin Ray and he's through to the final four as well.  I wouldn't have picked him but he's final performance was better than I thought he had been.

James Tanner is up next but I can't see him going through at all.  He's going home which is completely fair.

Beatrice Miller is next along with Reed Demming.  I really like Beatrice but I think Reed might be a little more interesting.  Beatrice and Carly Rose are very similar so I'd suggest Britney is going to sway towards Reed.  However, I'm wrong and the Beiber look-alike is going home which means Beatrice is through.

Next up are the over 25's to learn their fate.  David Correy is first.  Unsurprisingly, he is through.

Daryl Black is next to sit across from LA Reid only to learn that the dream is over.

Jason Brock should go through.  I'll be surprised if he's cut.  He's not and is through to the live shows.

Tate Stevens is given the nod from LA as well which is again, unsurprising.

Finally are Vino Alan and Tara Simon.  It's obvious to me which one is going home and which one is staying.  It's justifiably Vino and the over-confident, annoyance that is Tara Simon is going home.

And we're halfway there.  The third category to find out their verdict are the Young Adults.  Firstly is Jennel Garcia who is relieved to learn she's through to the next round.

I'm not sure Demi Lovato is playing for keeps though as she's just told Willie Jones that he's in her Top 4.  Unbelievable!

And with that, What happened to The X Factor? Fox have switched to The Mindy Project.  Twitter is going mad.  Well, The X Factor fans are.

Fox are saying The X Factor will now replay in it's entirety on Tuesday at 8pm EST

Ironically, while the USA is forced to watch the delayed Baseball game, Canada is still watching the X Factor.  Bear with me as I catch up.

Demi Lovato seems intent on losing and puts Paige Thomas through.  Wow. Another surprising outcome.

Finally from this group we have Cece Frey and Jillian Jensen.  As much as I like Jillian and as much as I have really disliked Cece, when she sang LMFAO's Sexy And I Know It, she won me over.  And the results are in.  It's Cece.
