Hey people! I'm from Malaysia but i love watching American Idol and this was the best season ever! Taylor Hicks won! yay! he really deserves to win..i'm listening to his song as i'm typing..hehe...he's really down to earth...has a great voice and when he sings..u can really feel his sincerity and i can feel the connection..he is really good at "putting himself in the song". He has fun on stage and makes any song into his own..he certainly has originality! and one more thing..he has cool dancing moves! Well..Katherine was good but i support Taylor anyway! Katherine alwayz exaggerates and oversings the song. And she's not good in accepting critics. Taylor..u're the best! Yes..u do make me proud...and all the best to u!

I really love this song!  *wow!*  I'm so glad the lyrics are out so soon ... DO I MAKE YOU PROUD! ... even though Taylor isn't the best singer in American Idol 5 (AI5)... I'm still glad he won 'coz it's really his LAST chance to win this competition! ... whereas Lisa, Paris, etc have plenty of chances in the years to come In fact this song would have suited Buckey or Ace juz fine! ... I think the better singers in AI5 are Geddeon (he's the best in AI5!), Mandisa, Ayla Brown, Stevie, Paris, ... I really liked Ace Young, Buckey & Ayla ... ... Hey hey hey!! Taylor hicks is the best!! I liked him ever since the begining of American Idol!! I'm so glad he one and not katherine Mc LOSER!

All I hope is that those of you who are singing the praises
of Taylor Hicks never make into important positions calling for sound judgment.  Taylor
could only sporadically carry a tune. A couple of good performances and many
bad ones.  He cannot dance.  He is fat.  He performs in the
pasture of discarded, mediocre wedding singers.  He had months to kick it up a notch,
and he did nothing to improve himself.  Same fat, gooberish, lacking
rhythm, lacking soul performer that was there on day one.  But as another poster posted, “Even a half-dead
junky should recognise that a FROG farting MOON
RIVER is much more melodious than Taylor on his best day.

I just have one question....if you don't like Taylor or don't like his music...then why do you waste your time to come on a website with his lyrics and then just diss him? I mean seriously whats the point? And yes I agree with the person that said if Elliot had looked like Ace and had Elliot's voice he probably would have won...and the only reason Katharine was in the finals is because of her looks. Maybe Taylor would not have gotten as much attention if he didn't have gray hair or if he didn't dance so wild...but Katharine could have danced wild, Elliot could have, Ace could have, Chris, Mandisa, any one of them culd have done that. Taylor does have talent...at least your admitting that. It might not be the talent that everyone expects the 'American Idol' to have but he sure does have his own talent and you can't say he doesn't.

Taylor was awesome!!!! I liked him from the beginnin'...And "Do I Make You Proud" is a very good song for him. I can't wait for his CD to come out. YAY! Good job Taylor.

I hope Taylor becomes more succsessful then any other American Idol or runner up like Clay. All the SOUL PATROLERS  around America are very happy to hear Taylor`s voice, thats why they are true fans! Taylor has a great gift and I hope he uses it wisely throughout his life. He made every fan proud of him, answering his question in his new hit single "Do I Make You Proud". Taylor Hicks is a good person  and very nice not just on camera but off. People might say he can not sing but the only reason that is said is because people dont listen to music from the past not the junk people listen to today! Taylor just has the perfect voice for an American Idol no matter what time it brings back. The 70`s, 80`s, 90`s or now, it does not matter! He is awesome! We love you Taylor and once again you DO make us proud!!!!!

This song really is great. Like Taylor or not, like the results of AI or not, this song is what life is about... making something out of a life that starts from nothing. Every person can in come way relate to this story, even if it's by trying to please someone in their life. If you don't like Taylor that's you're right, but don't bash him by wishing death upon him or trashing his career before it ever starts. Personally I hope all the members of the cast have long successful careers.

When Taylor sings his song Do I Make You Proud. Well I can say yes you do make me proud. I am from Alabama too and yes I agree with you taylor, Stars do Fall on Alabama. I am almost where you came from(Birmingham, Alabama). I am your biggest fan's. I tried to get tickets to the American idole Tour At The BJCC Center and they were all sold out except one. I am a Soul Patrol all the way! Taylor was the best of all seasons. Kathran was all the time on the floor. She did not know how to sing. I have no idea how Kathreen made it that far. She should have been told no when she tried out!

Congratulations to Taylor Hicks!  I regret that I didn't catch much of AI S5 till much later.  In The semifinals, his song, Do I make you Proud? made me cry.  It is such a beautiful, simple song that suits him to a T.   The Destiny song, sang by Katherine, is too sugary sweet  for me.  She is all beauty and grace but Taylor is so himself.  I wish him all the best in his career.  I have never bought singles before,  I will buy his single the moment it comes to Malaysia.  Yes, you made us all PROUD!   - Love from Malaysia.
