If you threw American Idol's Mr Nasty, Simon Cowell, onto a deserted island what songs would he want on his solar powered ipod? According to BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs this morning, you'd be more likely to find classic pop songs from the 1950s and 1960s than something from Kelly Clarkson or Carrie Underwood. In fact, most conspicuous by their absence on the list are the songs that are responsible for his £50m fortune.

The only recent song to make the grade is Daniel Bedingfield's If You're Not The one.

Simon Cowell's favourite song is Bobby Darin's Mack the Knife which reckons is "the best song ever made".

I really belive the final two were Taylor and Elliot. I'm sure that Chris would have been the American Idol had he taken the offer. Im belive thats the case with Kat as well. They were probably offered record deals with some big name companies, and chose not to lock themselves into an American Idol contract. I like Taylor Hicks, Its a big business Chris and Kat are much more marketable.

Finally! Classic Love Songs week! Its going to be such a great show. I can believe they got Andrea Bocelli to com on the show. He is such an amazing singer. Its going to be very interesting to see how he works with the remaining 6. My friend from work (who always comes over to watch) told me to go to Bocelli's site www.andreabocelli.com. Its a cool site with everything you need to know about him and more. Next week will be a great show.

I watch American Idol faithfully and was sooo confused tonight Wednesday when Ace was voted off.  I have no favorite just enjoy the entertainment, however, when I saw Kelly do such a awful, terrible job of singing last night and staying over Ace who was terrific, I ask myself what is going on.  Should I stop watching.  This was just plain wrong, unfair, untrue,and something strange going on.  What might that be?   I keep shaking my head from side to side in disbelief.  Oh so SAD.

So, Simon says he's original and I like him too, but it turns out that he actually performed Johnny Cash's I walk the line exactly like Live's (I Alone, Lightning Crashes) version. The arrangement is exactly the same. Check it out at iTunes or some other music downloadable site.

Taylor didn't you mention on one of the previous episodes that you got to meet CHRISTOPHER ROBIN, who is a singer from CT in LA when you were there and that was awesome......I could of sworn you said that on the show after one of your songs.  Please let me know, if I was hearing things, or you really did think he was awesome and you met him......you see I know him, and also know that he is about to be signed with a nice music label.........and his agent would love to view that episode to record for him.....

Several of the Idol contestants really have no particular talent: Kellie Pickler can't hit her notes; Bucky Covington, though adorable, is just average; Lisa Tucker doesn't have what it takes; and Kevin Covais is cuddly but not a mega star. Ace is borderline, too. The real contenders are Mandisa, Chris, Elliott, Katherine and Paris.
