Paula Blunder

Submitted by toddS on Tue, 2008-04-29 18:36.

Paula's blunder this eve implies the judges have prejudged the contestants' performances. This damages the show's already questionable credibility.

Oh Come on! She made a mistake, so what! Because she is in show business she has no right to do so?!?!?!?! Grow up guys!!! Drugs? Alcohol?? Please!!!!

They may listen to the rehersal... does that affect the show?? Not at all!!! The public vote, not the judges....

...but honestly, do you truly believe that Paula is an asset to the show? Mistakes are fine; but, the chronic incompetence is another matter. Based on the blog feedback, it looks like only one person is able to understand Paula's ...umm... whatever you call that spew. The majority a few of us are having difficult with those unintelligible rambles. Fox is known for its innovations. Perhaps they could superimpose a translator in the upper corner of the screen to help those of us who speak English understand what Paula is trying to say. ...and that better be a pretty clever translator.

At this point of the competition do we really cares what the judges say. I doubt very much if anybody's vote is viased by the judges opinion. We vote for whom we like regardless of the judges favorite.

The only way for Paula to know about Jason's second song is for her to have heard or watch his rehearsal. The responsibility of preventing this from happening are those of the producers of the show. We are not privy to the going ons backstage or what happened prior to the airing of each show but producers must see to it that judges not have access to these rehearsals for fairness sakes.

Will it hurt the show? I'm not sure if anybody listen to Paula's evaluation or commentary anyway, most of them are unintelligible and those that were not are pretty lame.

I would like Paula and the producers to stop
and think how Jason must have felt, not only did she
do this to herself but she did this to him as well.
Did she lose the lyrics and stop then try to start
over. What ever happened Jason paid the price
she is suppose to be the pro. The show the
producers and judges owe him huge apology.
What is going on with this show is it memorex!

Paula's blunder last night should become "paulagate" It has nothing to do with her IQ. HOW could she have possibly known that Jason"s second performance was not good??? (hmmmm) Imagine how he must have felt singing the 2nd song when Paula had already GIVEN HER OPINION OF IT?? No wonder he has developed a (who cares) attitude. I thinks this should not be trivialized...there is some explaining to do by the Idol people..How does this show operate??

Check out this guys recap. He's funny and his comments are dead on -- he thinks Brooke is going home tonight.

Watch the recap!

Paula was awsome tonight!! She gives me the same uncomfortable fuzzy feeling the UK version of 'The Office" delivers.
Her randomness is genius...Brooke is a dud with dwindling self-esteem, get her off idol.

Add a poll "should we kill paula" (not verified) Wed, 2008-04-30 07:28

Calling Paula 'genius' is amusing to say the least.

I can't see Paula being there for the next season, she is incredibly painful to watch and to be honest I am to the point where hearing the judges comments is a chore for me to listen too. Lets just put a 6 year old in her place and we will probably come up with the same comments.

It's like most great actors. singers, sports players etc. the biggest gift you can have is the ability to know when to bow out and leave behind a legacy that people remember fondly. Paula's time was a while ago and her publicist must be on crack or something because he obviously has no control over her. Her comment to her mistake was "it's hard" MY GOD I wanted to hit her… No Paula, hard is a mother watching her child be taken by a life threatening illness, a street kid trying to kick all the preasures of being hopeless is hard… you remembering that contestants sung one song for your 500-1million dollars a season IS NOT FUCKING HARD!

Paula sorry but you need to concentrate, you sounded stupid we like you but ,come on!! take it seriously, BROOKE SUCKS WHAT IS SHE DOING THERE PLEASE!!! IS THERE SOME JUSTICE IN THIS WORLD, THE GIRL CAN'T SING!!!!Itoday I like her leather pants..please leave Brooke...Do you notice that when she plays guitar or piano she is kind of ok, without it she is nobody...
COOK was great, ARCHULETA....great nice kid very charming good voice, SAISHA she is getting better and she lookede good today...

The Critic Tue, 2008-04-29 19:18

yeah.. pretty stupid on Paula's part... but what's new! Laughing out loud

Gayle (not verified) Tue, 2008-04-29 19:17

I totally agree that Paula has to go. Her comments continue to be all over the page and she always appears to really have no idea what she is talking about.

There must be someone that can better fit this spot. Come on America -- she MUST go!!!!!!!

MAV33 (not verified) Tue, 2008-04-29 19:06

Paula's "blunder" simply reflects her single digit IQ. Giving her a break, perhaps it's the effects of drugs and/or alcohol on a troubled individual. Let's be honest here, this is a small mind on a bigger stage than she is capable of handling. Honestly, is Paula Abdul the best that Fox can come up with in that spot? Imagine the spark that a sharp mind would add in the middle of that table. Stop the agony and embarrassment. This bimbo really has to go!
