One Direction have been confirmed to make an appearance on The X Factor USA’s top 12 results show this week.

The British five-piece will appear on Thursday’s (November 8) episode to perform ‘Live While We’re Young’ and ‘Little Things’ from their upcoming second album.

Zayn Malik said: "Having come from the UK X Factor, we can't wait to perform on the US stage ¬– it's going to be a great night!"

Niall Horan said: "We're really excited to be on the American X Factor. It'll be the first time we've performed in front of 'Uncle Si' since we were on the UK X Factor. So, hopefully, we'll make him proud!"
