The polls are incredibly interesting this week.  In the lead up to last night's finale, Jessica Sanchez was leading Phillip Phillips by 61% ot 39%.  After last night's show, the numbers have changed.

Between the two contestants, there is now only 4%, giving Jessica Sanchez a small advantage of 52% to Phillip Phillips' 48%.

However, if we're to base the result on which winners single was your favorite, Phillip Phillips' Home lead Jessica Sanchez' Change Nothing but 57% to 43%.

We're expecting Jessica Sanchez to be crowned the 11th American Idol tonight.  Roll on the results.

With our poll already predicting a Jessica Sanchez win at the American Idol Grand Finale tomorrow night, tonight may very well just be a formality.

Idol finalist Phillip Phillips has gone against his doctor’s wishes and refused surgery for his severe kidney problems in order to compete on American Idol.

Phillips has stated that he will work through the pain in order to win the show despite the fact it is taking a toll on his body.

Suffering from kidney problems, Phillips started the competition and quickly had a stent put in which would act as a temporary fix until he could have surgery.

We're now less than a week out from the Grand Finale of American Idol.  Tonight we find out who they'll be.  The polls suggest Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez will be left standing at the end of tonight's show.

First up, the final three perform Got To Get You Into My Life.

Taking a look at our weekly run down of our poll results we can see that the public don't really seem to mind who wins as it really is a close, three horse race.

Your favorite last night appears to have been Phillip Phillips who received 43% of the vote while Jessica Sanchez had 34% and Joshua Ledet came in last with 23% of the vote.

When it came to who you wanted to see eliminated tonight it was the closest we've ever had this poll with Jessica Sanchez marginally ahead on 34% while both Joshua and Phillip scored a dead even 33% each.

Our poll asking which two finalists you'd like to see was again interesting. Phillip Phillips and Joshua Ledet were your most preferred with 37% while Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez came in close behind with 35%.  Joshua and Jessica were third on 28% of the vote.

E! is reporting today that Jennifer Lopez may be leaving American Idol following the conclusion of the current season.

The singer has said that she is undecided as to her future on the show but E! claims she is heading for the door.

Lopez has a tour locked in with Enrique Iglesias kicking off this summer and word is she plans to be on the road until the end of the year.

Britney Spears and Demi Lovato have officially been added to the judging panel for The X Factor USA.

The revamped judging panel was officially unveiled yesterday at the Fox upfronts where the two singers joined Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid.

In terms of contracts, it is understood Spears will net $15m for the season while Lovato will collect around $1m.

Steven Tyler and his band Aerosmith will hit the American Idol stage on May 23.

The band will perform their new single on the grand finale of the show despite the fact guitarist Joe Perry had criticised the show when Tyler joined.

"It wasn't about the show – it was about how we found out about it," Perry told Rolling Stone. "I was pissed off about that whole thing, but I've played on it before and the band is gonna play on it in the last episode of the season to debut the new single. So it's not about the show, it's about how we found out about it. It was a bit of a shock and it took us off balance."
