David A. already showed that he has vast amounts of potential to make it big in the music industry. This Utah native belts out ballads with such ease, that we sometimes forget the guy is still in his teens. I will certainly support this guy by purchasing his albums.

i was a david archuleta supporter from the beginning, and i personally think his songle is better than cooks. i think archuleta is younger, and will have more of a career than cook. cooks fame from winning will soon blow over once archuleta realeases a pop album, and he realeases a rock album. i bet thats how its gonna go. pop will go over with the younger crowd, which is a lot of the majority, because of not only his talent, but of his heartthrobness too, that gets him all the teens screaming for him. he also gets some of the older crowd. same goes for cook, just switch it around. both of their albums come out on november 4. we'll see. ;]

So.. As much as I love david archuleta, and trust me its a lot. Do you really believe he will make it that far? After the idol tour this summer he will be back in high school. Either he records songs after class and inbetween school or he waits until he graduates. Either way I feel bad for him. Being 16, I personally would find it hard to have recording sessions and all this big hollywood stuff during school. Unless he can do it ofcourse. Or he waits until he graduates, and by that time the next american idol is crowned and david archuleta is nothing but old news. Just like his vocal paralysis during star search that got in his way. Now its high school. The kid can't catch a brake. But all I know is I have never seen a more talented and polite boy in my life, and I wish him the best of luck!

did David Archuleta win the Star Search?

i could have accepted david cooks winning if he did not cry. when he cried, for me, it was like getting sympathy from the viewers.
i like david archuleta but i accepted the fact that david cook is good too so if he wins it will be just ok. but now i was thinking that maybe he won because of the sympathy votes. whenever a contestant cried after they were being judge by the judges they will stay for another week. i don't know. it just doesn't feel right.

People can express their opinions all they want on here, but if you cannot or will not provide any form of reasoning for your personal opinion other than rude remarks, you are just making yourself look like an ignorant fool.

By rude remarks, I mean ridiculous assertions such as David Archuleta being bisexual or homosexual, or personal attacks. His sexuality has no relevance to his vocal abilities and, as far as I am concerned, whatever stage presence he has.

Typing in caps is exceedingly immature, no matter what your message is. Emphasizing your text does not emphasize your "logic". It is simply annoying to have to read things in all caps, so please try to refrain from typing in all caps.

Personal attacks such as "you're an idiot", "your personality sucks", etc., accomplish nothing (except for making you look ignorant, as I said). The few relevant intellectual opinions being contributred hardly make up for the spam being posted on this page. Very few of you have stated what you think Archuleta will amount to, and have instead focused on ripping apart David Cook.

As far as previous Idols go-- I do not see how you can be blind enough to claim that none of them have amounted to anything; isn't Carrie Underwood considered a prominent and leading figure in the country genre? Didn't Kelly Clarkson have a streak of success? Maybe she didn't last, but she definitely had some hits and encourage a large fan base. Carrie is still playing big in country, however.

With the right management this kid will be the stuff of legends. He's a prodigy and had his title taken away from him by the producers.

The show has always had it's critics, saying AI only ever find just another popstar. This year Cook comes along with a rockstar voice and so Archie was pushed aside, the producers had found their winner.

They give Archie ballad after ballad to ensure people would get bored of his 'one dimensional' performances and allowed cook to choose songs that would makes him appear diverse. Archie originally picked 'Don't wanna miss a thing' and the producers took it off him and give it to Cook.

Even the judges comments are all contrived. They knew giving archie all the praise in the final, would have the opposite effect on most Americans.

They chose their winner, he won. Not because he's great, because he's not, he's just another rockstar wannabe, same as the other 50 or so we see come and go each year.

I think that David Archuleta had beautiful vocals that are always perfectly on pitch. He is also very good a connecting with the audience. David Archuleta should have positively won!

David Cook can't sing worth beans, he hits a bad note every other note he screams and he is so fake. Whenever he sais he makes up and arrangement, it is really someone else's arrangement that isn't well known so he can get away with saying it's his. He is a rocker and there are a million other horrible singers out there exactly like him. His bigest problem is his attitude, he is a pompous, arrogant, full of himself, unhumble toe rag and he SUCKS!

Dave Arcghuletta should have been the winner. There are a million David Cook's out there. But... it's probably better that he didn't win because most of the Idol winners have amounted to nothing.
