david archuletta is a star,he deserves to be the next american ldol.

tattoocross Sun, 2008-05-11 19:41

David A,'s dad is as awful as you can get. It's not the first time this guy was kick out a singing competition. David did something he was told not to do by the Producers of AI. But since daddy dearest said to do it , David did it. He is old enough to be accountable for his actions. It was not right. So how can he get away with this? What would happen if any of the other contestants did this? I think this bites big time. Should David A. win for this? Is this just another way to get sympathy votes? I sure hope not. This is so not fair for the remaining singers!!!

Leave David Alone (not verified) Mon, 2008-05-12 06:41

Do you believe everything you read in the media? Do you know David? Do you know the circumstances? Read everything you can on this and then let us know if you still feel the same way. You unfortunately don't know all the facts.

Shantina Tue, 2008-05-13 01:35

Do you?

ilovedavida (not verified) Sun, 2008-05-11 13:06

DAVID ARCHULETA is an angel,

DAVID COOK sucks

jla (not verified) Sun, 2008-05-11 17:11

OMG I hate david cook...he is so damn cocky...sing in a diferent way , he just bores me to death, just rock, rock rock!! I just love syesha she deserves to be on final 2

angel bottom (not verified) Sun, 2008-05-11 20:04

how is this even a questions. syesha is the only person with real heart, emotion and artistic talent. she's amazing. if she doesn't win, american idol will lose another great contestant. i can't believe that the david's are even in the top three. syesha is clearly a shining star and will perform LOOOOONNNNNGGGG past the next few weeks of the American Idol competition.

Ilovedavida (not verified) Sat, 2008-05-10 18:56

In fact! Here in ARGENTINA EVERYBODY loves David A, I think he is just a big star already!

I cant vote because I dont live there, so sad!

ilovedavida (not verified) Sat, 2008-05-10 18:41

Im from Argentina and I loooooove David Archuleta

david cook suuucksss he so vain!

grandma H (not verified) Fri, 2008-05-09 21:53

I am 60 and a gramma and voting for Cook. I appreciate his risk taking, his edginess, his range and his connection with his audience...I appreciate that he has switched it up.. David A. has stood on that stage week in and week out and never sung more than a ballad....yes nice voice, good range and pitch...but no risks, limited emotional range...and elevator music...always the safe choice. He is young and years on the stage have molded him into a singer but not a performer...he is not the whole package and not the bomb that Randy keeps toting.

Peggy Sue (not verified) Sat, 2008-05-10 12:49

My problem with Cook is his personality. He's started showing his being opinionated. Someone must have told him that was a "no-no," particularly trying to keep up with Simon Cowell. Now he seems to be very calm and accept criticism, but it's clear that he does not agree with comments and is biting his tongue not to say what's on his mind -- which is probably something nasty.

Cookin in the Kitchen (not verified) Fri, 2008-05-09 12:52

Jason C - Sorry you needed to gone a couple of weeks ago. But you made your star shine while it lasted and that should open a few doors down the road.

David Cook will be the top idol. David A is too predictable. YM could fool them all, she has the pipes to do the job and the only one going up each week. If she does not make the final, she will be opening on Broadway soon!

SweetGirl1987 (not verified) Fri, 2008-05-09 00:01

Everyone has their own oppions. So I will tell you mine.
I think Syesha should go. She is good but I don't think she should stay. She is just another powerful diva singer. David A is awesome and can sing so well.. but he is BORING... when he sings he pretty much just sits there.. it's not fun to watch. David Cook is amazing! He can sing, perform, and I don't think he is stuck up or thinks hes the best. He just has confidence...I think the other 2 should learn from that.
I think it should go like this....
top3...
Syesha go home next week.
the top 2 between Archie and Cook
American Idol winner [COOK]

booooooo (not verified) Thu, 2008-05-08 23:06

People....young kids........grandpa.............grandma...........retarded people ...........frustrated singers.............dont be soooooooooo jealous..........DAVID ARCHULETA.............is the winner !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Baba (not verified) Thu, 2008-05-08 17:12

DAVID ARCHULETA REALLY NEEDS TO GO HOME. HE SHOULD BE VOTED OFF FOR TRYING TO ATTEMPT AN ELVIS PRESLY SONG. HE RUINED THE SONG, IN MY OPINION. THE TOP 2 SHOULD BE DAVID COOK AND SYESHA MERCADO

Realistic (not verified) Thu, 2008-05-08 13:43

I must admit I love David A's voice but there is something missing for me when he performs. David C and Syesha have their own unique performance style along with outstanding vocal talent. At this point draw straws, all three finalist will have great careers. I will purchase tickets when Syesha hits broadway, own all David C's CDs and will purchase David A's music for my daughters.

mmmyeah (not verified) Thu, 2008-05-08 14:45

"I must admit I love David A's voice but there is something missing for me when he performs."

A pulse?

HAH! Just kidding! Hw is getting better! Someone made reference to "why does a singer need to move" or something to that extent that did make me chuckle a bit. But again he is getting a bit more dynamics.

kmac (not verified) Thu, 2008-05-08 02:15

This is the first season I've had remote interest in this show. The reason.... David Cook. You can't deny his creative genius. Could American Idol have finally found a legitimate "American Idol?"

Ratluvr (not verified) Thu, 2008-05-08 01:13

David Cook kinda grows on you.. at first I didn't care for what I also percieved as his "cocky" attitude but have since been able to see moments of true gratitude when listening to the judges critiques. Both Davids are taking everything the judges say and internalising it.. and making a sincere effort to improve their performances. My first choice however remains David A. but that's only because I like ballads over all more then pure rock and roll. However you can bet that when I am in the mood for pure rock... I'll listen to a cd by David cook in a heartbeat. As for Syesha.. she's come a LONG way in the last several weeks. She's improved by leaps and bounds in her confidence, comfort levels, range, pitch... song choice and poise... I just think it's too little to late. I think she'll still have a wonderful career ahead of her.. and Jason Castro.. man... wow! you blew it.

bellmy (not verified) Wed, 2008-05-07 21:30

I cannot believe the amount of people voting for this kid!! he sings like a child, does not have a bit of rythm,
no stage apperance, and I think he might be a little on the gay side. He has yet to prove that he can sing more than slow, low pitch songs. What is it that they say? Singing safe songs? I feel that is the only way he has stayed in the competition, oh.lets not forget to feel sorry for the puppet.....GET OVER IT!!!! In my opinion, I don't feel that he should be there, he needs to grow up and maybe fit in. You can tell that the others really don't care for him. I think the judges are playing favorites at this point, why? your guess is as good as mine.

blb (not verified) Thu, 2008-05-08 12:09

How can you be "a little on the gay side"??? I think David Cook has become a good (not great) performer. For that reason I think he is ready to go and would benefit from not winning and being able to take charge of his own career going forward. I think David A. has a great voice and can sing just about anything but needs to work on his stage presence. He will do okay if he wins and they market him to the right audience (not 12 year olds more like 17-25). I love Syesha she should do great on broadway. I also think Jason has tanked the past couple of weeks on purpose. Don't know why he wanted out but it was obvious he did. Listen to his studio recordings. He really does a great job.

PRECIOUS5/24 (not verified) Thu, 2008-05-08 07:12

WHAT DO YOU HAVE AGAINST THIS SO CALLED KID YOU SAY. HE HAS A LOT OF TALENT MORE THAN I CAN SAY ABOUT THE OTHER 2. HE IS NOT A COPY CAT LIKE DAVID COOK AND HE IS NOT A WANNA BE LIKE SYESHA. HE IS A NATURALLY BORN SINGER.
HE IS NOT GAY AND SO WHAT IF HE IS......WHO CARES ABOUT HIS SEXUALITY.

Shantina Thu, 2008-05-08 01:56

I totally agree! David Archuleta is getting quite boring and dull as the competition go on. We cannot deny that he has a good voice, but syesha, ramielle, michael john and the rest have good voices too, they including Archuleta just do not have the zest for life. If we are to gauge Archuleta with the existing top record selling artists of today, he does not even come close, that is why i think there is something wrong with Randy whenever he compliments Archuleta. But notice Randy's face after he gave his comment to Archuleta, he looks like he wants to puke! because he knows what he is saying is totally not true.
As for David Cook, everything about him is worth spending money for. He will sell more records than David A. whether he wins the Idol or not. SO, TO THE IDOL PRODUCERS, IF YOU WANT TO TAKE THE CREDIT FOR THE FUTURE QUADRUPLE PLATINUM OF DAVID COOK'S FIRST AND SUCCEEDING ALBUMS, LET HIM WIN OK, dont get persuaded by the 14 years old and below fans who doesn't even have enough money to buy CDs

pink_princess (not verified) Thu, 2008-05-08 11:34

Every song David Archuleta sounds the same. I think he is socially retarded. He can't even give a straight answer without getting flustered and not sounding like a total moron. Listening to him in concert would be as fun as going to the dentist. He needs to grow some balls and stop acting like a shy kid on his first day of school. I don't deny the kid has a voice but he needs more training on and off the stage. You would think since his father is such a hard ass that he would make his kid attend vocal and performing workshops or classes.

mmmmyeah (not verified) Thu, 2008-05-08 15:02

LOL

I must admit you are funny! Going to have to agree with our high school mom? bellow tho and agree. He's 17. I am pretty sure if we took you at 17 and asked you a question in front of 100's of people live to millions of people judging you... you might catch some social retarded qualities too. lol

Funny tho!

blb (not verified) Thu, 2008-05-08 12:15

Oh my god!!!!!!!!!! It's so obvious the kid is just very shy. He is 17 for god's sake. I work at a high school and see 17 year-old boys everyday act as unsure of themselves. But he has such a comfort level when he sings. It is obviously his passion. He has all the time in the world to come in to his own. Give him a chance

BlakeVa (not verified) Wed, 2008-05-07 22:05

You're kidding right???
"he might be a little on the gay side.....You can tell that the others don't really care for him..."
Are we in high school or what???

Shantina Thu, 2008-05-08 02:00

True! very true indeed!

DavidArchieLover (not verified) Wed, 2008-05-07 19:35

David A. sang those songs beautifully. Jason needs to leave, now. I don't care how cute he is, he kind of sucks. sorry fans, but its true!

pamela (not verified) Wed, 2008-05-07 15:21

who cares if you don't buy david a cd. then go ahead and buy the cd of whoever you like. nobody cares. david cook sucks. he can't even reach high notes he looks like he want to pup hello!!!?

lovelyroses (not verified) Thu, 2008-05-08 14:24

If you want vocal range then Seyesha Whitney Mercado is your idol.

-Kat- Wed, 2008-05-07 19:54

Are you like ten or something? You are on almost every blog on here at anyone's throat who doesn't like David A. They have a right to their opinion too, ya know. Why must you be so condescending and aggressive? It's a TV show.

Shantina Thu, 2008-05-08 23:15

Exactly!

Johana (not verified) Wed, 2008-05-07 12:36

I guess people forgot that David A. has forgotten lyrics earlier this season. So what that David Cook's first song wasn't as OMG as it should've been? David Cook has crushed this season with "Hello", "Eleanore Rigby", Billy Jean, and Always Be My baby. David A. can't interview, is boring, and hardly ever challenges himself. David Cook has had like 2 not so great performances this season compared to all of his other mind blowing ones. Seriously I'm starting to think that they're like that with David A. because they truly want some underage action. If Idol wants a little puppet to control than you know what? Let him win because it's obviously rigged. I know I would never buy any of his corny albums. I love you David Cook and you're the most talented contestant Idol has ever had, YOU ROCK!

lovelyroses (not verified) Thu, 2008-05-08 14:39

Completely agree that David Cook has already sung numbers on the show that can be their own singles; all of the judges have agreed with this statement and several of the mentoring musicians have stated his versions could be singles. No other artist has done that in the history of Idol.

I also love Seyesha "Whitney Houston" and hope she will show her signature and unique star qualities.

Tuesday, .Archuleta sung beautifully and with some balls when the time is becoming crucial. However, "Stand by Me" and "Love Me Tender" are standards for music competitions. Anyone that been at a few local music competitions has heard these songs. That says nothing unique about his artistry and balls. Great artists have their own songs, not overly repeated songs.

Castro's music is both soothing and easy to dance to.

I hope we hear from many of the top 12 in the future. This group is hands and feet above previous contenders.

Egad (not verified) Wed, 2008-05-07 01:42

Personally I think David A. is boring. He butchered Love Me Tender. Could Idol and judges pimp him any more than they do?

i hate cook's attitude (not verified) Wed, 2008-05-07 16:45

It is SO annoying when people say that Archuleta is boring!!! ARE YOU JOOKKKINGGG!???!! David cook just stands there, nods, and has this "yes, I know I am the shit" look on his face! At least archuleta smiles and is like, oohh thank you, thank you! David cook is a pomus ass and has no respect. his attitude sucks!! archuleta is at least greatful and WANTs to be there. COOk is cocky, and i do NOT want him to win!!! archulta has been raised in a good family home, he would be completely appreciative and shocked. Cook already has that "cocky star" attitude going on. abnoxious.

David Archuleta (not verified) Sun, 2008-05-11 17:01

Idol=Love
David Archuleta is LOVE.
David Archuleta is Light of the World.
God loves David Archuleta and he loves God deeply.
Everything about David Archuleta is beautiful.
He is the true Idol in our hearts in all aspects.
He even doesn't have to sing to make people happy for his simple beautiful spiritual presence is enough to heal the world and people. It is so rare to find a man like him...He is only 17...just amazing...

lovelyroses (not verified) Thu, 2008-05-08 14:57

Cook has the strong qualities needed to be a lead singer, but could work on his camera presence. He did an excellent job with "Hello" but doesn't know how to act when he isn't singing. Archuleta's obvious and honest disbelief is perfect for the cameras but he needs a few more years to get used to testosterone to be a strong lead singer.

mmmmyeah (not verified) Thu, 2008-05-08 12:04

lol…

Pathetic.

Comes from a good family… how the hell do you know you self absorbed freak? Your interpretations of the Idol hopefuls is just that you arrogant, "Obnoxious" fool.

Having said that, young David is getting better at performing and entertaining, but he's not even close to either Cook or Syesha, then again Cook is not even close to Syesha in entertainment… most of you go on about "this is a singing contest" crap and it's just that - crap. It's a popularity contest that you win by…

Singing
Dancing
Entertaining
being good looking
swooning hearts of young girls (enter Jason Casto… NUMBER 4 contestant... please!)
and finally by "coming from a good home and being humble *ok maybe I am being sarcastic here...

Cook is a true rocker! (not verified) Thu, 2008-05-08 07:49

Right David A. was raised in a good family! That is if you consider a psycho dad good. You need to read up on his Father when David was on Star Search! And those simple nods and smiles that Cook gives are just a humble response.

Soon2bdocLo (not verified) Wed, 2008-05-07 18:57

I have a different opinion. I think it is actually more professional to accept the criticism with a smile and a nod, instead of being defensive and having a tantrum on stage. Additionally, there is already a limited amount of time. I don't necessarily see the arrogance--I see confidence and hope. Cook's performances are definitely stimulating and unpredictable. There is always something new to look forward to. I do like Cook and Archuleta. Both will make it regardless of the outcome of Idol. However, I like the rock style...I like Cook's voice and performances. He has the ability to be unique and authentic. He trusts himself--and he is very consistent. I think some comments by the judges are a bit biased...they already have their favorites. I think that Cook will also be appreciative and shocked to win Idol...as would most hopefuls.

Stagehand (not verified) Wed, 2008-05-07 07:18

David Cook showed this week why he was behing all year on American Idol. Hungry Like the Wolf was by far his worst performance ever. The vocals were way off and were hard to listen to. His voice sounds like sandpaper and because of the gruffness he failed to bring it when it was most important. Must a tough pill to swallow to be beaten out by a 17 year old.

lovelyroses (not verified) Thu, 2008-05-08 15:17

Cook failed to put the layers into this song that were put into his previous songs. However, he continues to outdo the competition because he is the only contestant that is reinventing the songs. Of course with reinvention there will be a few failures. Have you bought a CD? Only a rare few songs on the CD hit number one. Other contestants haven't attempted to reinvent songs.

Another point, even if Seyesha is copying choreography at least she is learning to entertain us both visually and vocally entertainment.

I love to watch concerts on the internet that have a lot of movement, such as Shakira and the wild rockers.

Soon2bdocLo (not verified) Wed, 2008-05-07 19:00

No, I disagree. I think it was great. I don't think that one can compare apples to oranges--Cook to Archuleta. Both have very different styles. Apples and oranges taste differently.

mmmyeah (not verified) Wed, 2008-05-07 11:40

David Cooks first performance was indeed bad. His second was very good but did not come close to little D.A's 'stand by me' Having said that I doubt it is a 'hard pill to swallow' for him, In fact I am sure he knows he will most likely be beaten by little David A. and could care less.

David Cooks future, much like little D.A's are completely locked up and crystal clear. David Cook will go on to sell many Rock Albums and David A. will be around the pop charts for some time I am sure.

EyesWideOpen (not verified) Wed, 2008-05-07 05:16

Boring...obviously you're not a fan of his style of singing. To say he butchered Love Me Tender takes away any possible credibility you may have.

Love Me Tender is a phenomenol song that he "made his own"...not a copy cat performance. He musical sense and pitch made it a beautiful performance.

Love Me Tender is a ballad and "boring" as you say by its nature. Not likely to hear it in a hard rock style anytime soon on the big stage.

This is a singing competition and DA put a nail in the coffin of DC tonight. DC hasn't had what I would consider a memorable performance for weeks.

mmmyeah (not verified) Wed, 2008-05-07 11:53

Love me tender being a 'phenomenal" song is subjective, his pitch is normally excellent, but he did actually falter at the end of the song a bit. He tried to push his range a bit too far, little DA has great pitch but his range is limited.

D. Cook has had many memorable songs actually. He has proven himself to have extreamly good pitch and range, if you were to compare the two singers and remove popularity from the equation you would find they are both very similar in technical merit. David A is stronger pitch while David C is stronger Range.

What you and most people here comment on is your subjective tastes in music, nothing more. Nobody has a nail in anyones coffin except for Jason Castro whom placed his on nail in his own coffin. All three singers are very capable of pulling out exceptional performances and it only takes some bad songs to kill any of the contestants.

Syesha is on a roll and picking up steam
David A. is learning as he goes and I have seen considerable attention to his movement, eye contact and comfort level (Although he made very wise music choices last night I think he may still mess up on song selection to match his style of singing)
And David Cook has shown some weakness this week which is a real bad time to do it.
Jason… There is always modeling?

Darion (not verified) Wed, 2008-05-07 07:14

David Archuleta hit a grand slam thie week. He brought it home when he needed it. His performance this week of Stand By Me was pitch perfect and flawless. I believe great things are in store for one of the most talented 17 year old male singers I have ever have the privledge to listen to.

Bookaholic (not verified) Wed, 2008-05-07 01:33

Love Me Tender was just plain EXQUISITE. Very touching! I LOVED it! Wow!! Absolutely beautiful!

I'm leaving Thursday morning to drive to Murray, UT to see David at his homecoming celebration on Friday. He'll be singing! *swoon* By the way, it's about 730 miles one way, but it will be SO worth it. It'll be my first time to hear David sing in person. Next time will be the Idol tour. That one will only be 300 miles one way.

Love this guy and that incredibly beautiful, soaring, emotive voice. Whew!
