so are you regretting your jourany on Idol and are you saying that if we do happen to "get it all" that this is a bad thing. Also in the line "And then some you don't want" what is that something that you don't want!!!

I think that Chris is an obvious win but the fact is, Katharine sang horrible last night and Elliot sang the best he has all season. This isn't the first time Katharine messed up the lyrics or her pitch. Why does she always act stupid when she screws up? I think that got pretty old with Kelly we don't need another dummy.  Just my opinion.

It's just wrong! I blame myself, I did not vote. Did everyone else just assume that there was no doubt that Chris was going to be the next American Idol and not call in? I feel so bad. Katharine should of gone. Her bad choice of song and did she really think that she could carry that one off? Well in truth, she didn't carry it even in a bucket (where the lycris must be) LOL. It's just wrong!

I have just left the television and I can't believe it but the decision that was made, made me shed a few tears. The way it was announced was so sudden and it shocked me. Chris...American Idol is more based on popularity than talet i think....you as usual had an awsome night last night and had an awsome performance, you did not deserve to go home at all tonight, and it was such a big shock to me and everyone else that you left. Based on last nights performance I agree with Simon that Catherine should have gone home, but continue on with your dream and dont give up because you are an awsome performer and you made it this far and you are still the America Idol in my eyes. In no was do I think that Taylor or Elliot deserve to win!

I'm shocked that Chris went home. I think what may have happened is that people assumed Chris would get enough votes, and voted heavy for Eliot and Taylor so that they wouldn't go home instead of Cathrine. I do think that he has a least one record company already waiting for the chance to sign him. And without limitations he probably would have experienced being tied to American Idol, he'll soar.

How is it that someone everyone praises and loves went home? I haven't heard anyone say one bad thing about chris yet hes gone.  It seems like alot of BS to me.  Katherine over does everything! Shes annoying and doesn't deserve to still be there.  I don't even know if i can even watch the rest of this season because I was so behind chris and taylor being the top 2.  Maybe Chris is to good for the show. He will make it big.He truly deserved to make it all the way and for some reason we all just took it for granted.  I'm still in shock.

I am also in shock!!! I can't believe that Chris went home tonight! My husband and I both thought he would be our next Idol, and still believe he should be! Don't worry Chris, you will  make that dream come true! All your fans are and will be behind you al the way. Stay true to yourself like you have been and  it will happen.

I'm pissed!!! Katherine should have gone home.  American Idol is rigged to get ratings and create shock value.  This whole season was full of people surviving when they clearly should have gone home.  Their system of collecting votes needs to be addressed, since they've stopped "claiming" how many number of votes someone got.  AIdol should at least display the number of votes each contestant gets on their website.  I could accept Chris losing IF the other three pulled off good performances.  Katherine was so horrible that it was clear she should have been gone.  Saying Katherine was at a disadvantage is total bull.  Each week, every contestant had to sing to a theme that was not suited for them.  Idol blows. 

Unbelievable! What happened? Katharine sang out of tune, and yet she got to stay, but Chris is out, shocking, indeed! Just goes to show you, the votes weren't based on talent. The quality of singing had nothing to do with it, or Chris would have gone on to the next round and Katharine would have gone home. What is it that America wants in an Idol? Are they not looking for singing talent? The people I know who watch this show can't believe tonight's results either.

I think the bottom line reason Chris was voted off was NOT because he DESERVED to go by the voters....I think the voters truly thought he was 'safe' and put their voting calls in for Taylor & Elliott....assuming they voted at all.  It's a case of assuming he was 'safe'...pure and simple.  What a loss for Idol!  Chris, we are all watching for you to succeed after the show.  You are a WINNER!

It's a shame: the no compromise hard-core rocker with attitude, killer voice and style goes home without any real reason why? Was it because he was a little too real? Perhaps, but at least we'll be hearing from him again - No Doubt. Warm It Up, Chris!!! We're all waiting for some more car dealership rock! Yer, the greatest, Dude.

Hi, I am pleased with the decision that Chris was sent home...... Don't get me wrong he is an exeptional performer and singer.  What got to the public was the sense that they picked up on Chris' cocky attitude.  He let the rumors of him winning go to his head.  Katherine deserves another chance.  Every artist has their good days and bad days....just like everyone else.  I am personally all for Taylor Hicks.  He is a true american idol.  He's got the personality and he can hold his own as a performer.

I'm not a big american idol fan, but I started watching when i saw Chris sing one night. He's got an awesome voice, a great look...i just liked him, so I started watching. Every week he did his songs flawlessly, and every week I voted for him, including this week. I about fell off my couch when Simon said he was leaving! WHAT THE *@#! I am absolutely not watching this stupid show any more!! What the hell is wrong with people? They feel sorry for the girl because she screwed up so they vote for her? America-you messed this one up BAD...The only thing that makes me feel a little better is knowing no matter who wins, Chris has the talent and WILL end up with a recording contract, and an album which I will buy. As for the rest of them...good luck Elliot, I'm not even gonna curse him by saying he's the only choice left. Ugh, I feel sick...
