Well, I just voted that Adam "should" have won American Idol simply because he has the most talent over-all and was a recognized success from the moment he sang Michael's Black or White.

But, I am so very happy for both Adam and Kris that it turned out the way it did. I don't think Adam needed the Idol win to be a huge success, but I believe that without it Kris would not be as successful.

What I really love is the class act that both of these competitors are to each other and to their fans. Kris, did not even appeal to me--never listened to his songs all the way through--until the finale. (I have TIVO and did a lot of fast-forwarding). Their chemistry is amazing. The two of them were outstanding that final results night and have been so, in my view, ever since.

I love it that they are "apples and oranges" and appeal, for the most part, to different crowds. I love the "stand" that Adam has taken on being true to himself. What a role model for all of us.

And, as for the rest of the idols, they are a pretty special bunch of people in their support for each other and their support of each others unique and different talents and characteristics. What a ride they are on!

I'm a Michigan fan (mainly because I was intrigued with David Archuleta's talent and youth last season--before that I never watched Idol) and don't love our Matt's musical style, but that is personal preference, not saying he doesn't have talent. The truth is I now have a special fondness for:
Adam, Kris, Allison, Matt, and Michael (what an ambassador for Idol and for support), but I'm eager to see them all perform. Obviously they all have talent and personality or they would not have made it to TopTen.

Amazing opportunity for growth, adventure, and success in this venue. Go American Idol! I'm actually eager to see the new crop of aspiring singers trying to top Season 8 and Adam's influence. I don't think anyone can do it, but will love to see them try. (And, I hope Paula is back--she has a real connection to the individual artist and what they are trying to achieve since she has been there and done that.)

Kris is great and he will do ok I think, especially in middle America, Adam is a global star, everyone in the music industry who does this for a living know this and constantly say this about him. I think Adam came runner up as he is not as comfortable a fit for middle America, that is who mainly watches this show, but the World will be Adams, so the title means little.

you people who are saying one is more talented than the other are a hoot. Don't you realize this is only your own opinion .You like who you like and all your whining will never convince another person to agree with you becasue they like who they like. The only ones who continue this ridiculous war are some of you Kris or Adam fans and all your silly rantings don't mean anything. Why do you think there is so much different music in the world..... helllooo?? you same whiners would be the first to whine if everything were the same. Adam and Kris will both have careers in music and each will have a very different career and it is each persons right to follow WHO THEY LIKE, both have a lot of fans because both made it to the top 2 and winning doesn't really mean anything once they hit the real world, now it's up to them. So if you really love Adam or Kris, shut up and quit your whining and support your guy with your positive comments and put your money where your big mouths are and buy their CDs.

Adam was an amazing singer. Personally he was my favourite. But good for Kris. Kris was amazing too. I'm just saying that Adam was way to good for the show, and that's why Kris won. Adam is perfect, he has amazing vocals, looks () and a great personality (who cares if he's gay.....).

Kris on the other hand was amazing as well. He won American Idol 8. So don't any of you go saying that Kris sucks because he doesn't. In my opinion, Adam was way better than Kris. Kris was outstanding. Which makes Adam... Even more outstanding.

okay. so to warn you in advance i am an adam fan. but unlike other people im not going to beat down kris just because i like adam. that doesnt make sense to me. to all of you people who say kris cant sing. he obviously can because hes idol 8. so stop with that shit. the guy can sing.

i loved adam legit from the moment i saw him. i wasnt watching this season because i thought there was no one better than the 2 davids. so my mom was watching and i come in and this dudes singing play that funky music. and hes hitting these HIGH HIGH notes and strutting around like he owned the place and wearing CRAZY clothes. i had to check and make sure it was american idol. i just watched the rest of the performance and i was like. holy crap who does this guy think he IS?? i was in utter shock. he was amazing. what the hell was he doing on american idol i already knew he was way too good to even be on the show, much less win it. he had a vocal range like no other. i couldnt even watch the rest of the show i was still thinking about him. i watched every week after that, but only his performances. i see now that was a mistake there were many other great singers, such as kris and ALLISON. she was my second favorite, so her and adam together obviously make my heart melt theyre SO cute. i stand strongly behind adam. and i love how he knows who he is, doesnt hide it, and is proud of it. and he should be. he shoudlnt care about anything anyone says about him. i admire him so much. and hes a great role model for kids that feel like they dont fit in. he shows them that they SHOULDNT fit in, and that they should do whatever the hell they want and not care what anyone thinks. adam is such an amazing person (well he seems like it haha. you can tell it in interviews in and such). people start things about him because theres nothing to start. to him, nothing he has ever done he regrets. so good luck papparazzi trying to dig up dirt on him. if you do im sure hell be like oh yeah! i remember that! that was fun. thanks for reminding me! hes just doesnt care. he loves who he is and he should. congratulations adam. youre already a superstar. you have full support.

im actually glad adam lost. but he was WAAAY better than kris. im glad he lost bc he would be under a contract in idol and he would have to do whatever idol says. so that sux for kris. i was like what happend at first but then after i thought about it i was glad adam lost. but obviously he was waaayyy bettr than kris. adam is going to be bigger than kris.

I don't think there are any Kris fans outside of America. That is why Kris is the American Idol only. My opinion is he may do well in America but probably will not be an international star. Adam on the other hand, I sincerely believe will be a worldwide star. The whole world watched American Idol, and Kris is the typical American singer but Adam I think appeals to other nationalities too, and his fans are 6 yrs olds to 80 yr olds.

Maybe Adam's fans are more mature - they like listening to him but don't really have the time nor the interest in voting for him. They'd just buy his cd when it comes out.

Adam lost because hes gay ok?! People voted for Kris because of him being gay, and because of photos leaked of him on the internet. I'm sorry, Kris your still good, but it is not right at all to judge someone on there partnership. It's a singing contest not a judge a gay person show. He was the better singer and deserved it... >

I just want to give a big thanks to "Idolblog" for providing us with a great place to speak, vent, argue, and inform..... This was a fun season with lots of twists and turns and a big surprise ending. Thanks!!!

I am turned off by the results - if an entire state can throw their support to a contestant irregardless of talent- then this is no longer a singing competition - yes, never thought that 2.8 mil. people can call in 38 mil. votes - so Kris is the Arkansas Idol -NOT American Idol - !!!

I think Kris won from the 35 million text votes that came from Arkansas alone. Not to mention the additional 3 million call in votes from Arkansas area codes. This left only 15 million votes that came from the rest of 48 states. I think this makes Kris Arkansas IDOL not American IDOL. Kris will do well on the county fair tour but he has reached the pinnacle of his career. I actually feel sorry for the false hope Arkansas has put on him

This was not a contest between Adam and Kris- this was all about Adam....people were voting against Adam not because they liked Kris but because they are homophobic....

I'm not sure anyone have thought about or mentioned this in the comment here, but I personally think one of the main reasons why kris won because danny is more similar (overall) to kris than adam, that's why most of danny's fans voted for kris rather than adam, plus it's unlike election, people can vote more than once, so if I'm kris' fan and understood how adam could be the next american idol, then I would probably vote for kris as many times as I can.

I can't remember when was the last time I watched american idol show before this season, but when I saw adam's performance on tv, I start to follow the show again. Hopefully my comment won't displease kris' fans, but if the american idol want to find the next kelly clarkson, I'll start to make adam's first album now.

ps. I think adam might be too talent for Queen's new lead singer, and I can't wait for his first solo album.
