The funniest thing about running this site is the amount of email you get from people wanting to complain to the producers of American Idol.
The best ones are from people, or in this case relatives, who didn't make it passed the auditions when they believe with every ounce of their being that they're so good that the very essence of Michael Jackson is coursing through their veins.
So here's an exchange I've just had with one such auditionee's family.
The American Idol auditions wrap in Denver this week after trail blazing across the US over the last few weeks.
Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Los Angeles and Orlando have already had their turn and it wont be long until the season will be hitting our screens again in 2010!
If you thought the voting scandal in Florida that saw George W become the 43rd president of the United States was about as big as it got you'd best think again.
As it turns out, the surprise to many that Adam Lambert hadn't actually won American Idol and that the dark horse Kris Allen had somehow managed to pull off the biggest upset in history now appears to have been rigged by block voting - thanks in part to AI corporate sponsor AT&T
Of course, AT&T claim that it was only reps who attended two parties in Allen's home state of Arkansas and that only 80 phones were given out. Some math has been done which suggests those 80 phones could only have drawn a maximum of 96,000 votes and that they wouldn't have affected the final result because the gap between Kris and Adam was a large margin.
Whether or not it didn't affect the outcome, it's still fairly dodgy to have a sponsor handing out tools that could assist in one person winning over the other. Especially when the other person's fans aren't treated in the same way. The bias stinks!
And as for the "large margin", what does that mean? Most polls had it either very close or swinging Adam's way. That didn't happen. This entire situation smells and could be damaging to the future of the show unless the voting system can be refined.
First she showed up Katrina Darrell by outsinging her. Then she tears her dress open to show off her own stunning bikini body.
What did you think of this impressive stunt.
It's one of the questions that has been asked throughout the entire season of American Idol. Is Adam Lambert gay?
Photos of the American Idol 2009 runner up have surfaced with Lambert locking lip and tongue with other male folk, not to mention the incredibly camp costumes - although that could be due to the fact that he's quite involved in theatre. However, doesn't that say something as well?
They question that needs to be asked though is, who cares? Does sexual orientation dictate who is more deserving of winning a singing competition?
Are you ready America? Your 8th American Idol is about to be crowned. This is the Grand Finale of American Idol!
Adam Lambert or Kris Allen? The polls are close but it's looking like it's going to go Adams way. But don't count your chickens just yet. In 2 and a bit hours we should know the result.
Just under 100,000,000 million votes came in last night, bringing the total number of votes for this season to 624million!!
Mikalah Gordon is in Kris Allen's hometown of Conway, AR where there is a crazy crowd awaiting the result. Carly Smithson is in San Diego where there is a very vocal crowd waiting in anticipation for the result.
Kicking off the show is the Top 13 with a performance of
So What.

Last years winner, Mr David Cook comes out to perform
Permanent. Does it seem like it was an entire year ago that he was on the stage with David Archuleta? You'll be able to buy this song performance on iTunes tonight with the proceeds going to a charity.
We now pay tribute to those who didn't quite make it and have some awards - The Golden Idol awards. The first award is for Outstanding Male. The nominees are: Wil Kunick. Michael Gurr. Elijah Scarlett. Dean-Anthony Bradford. Nick Mitchell aka Norman Gentle. Of course, it's Nick Mitchell. He performs a semi-impromptu
And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going. Awesome.
Lil Rounds and Queen Latifa perform the first duet of the night. You've Got My Heart in Chains.
Anoop Desai starts singing
I'm Yours and is joined on stage by Jason Mraz.
It's then time to see the journey of Kris Allen. Kris then performs
Kiss a Girl with Keith Urban. I can't image Adam Lambert singing this song.
The girls of season 8 take to the stage to sing
Glamorous before Fergie comes out to join them and sings
Big Girls Don't Cry before she welcomes the Black Eyed Peas to the stage for a performance of
Boom Boom Pow.
The next Golden Idol for Best Attitude and the nominees are: Katrina Darrell aka Bikini Girl. Alexis Cohen. Tiffany Shedd. The winner is, of course, Bikini Girl who is, of course, mostly naked! She sings
Vision of Love. She's a little flat. Kara then steps out from behind the giant American Idol screen to join her for a duet. Apparently she was dared to do that so some charity is going to be benefiting nicely from that performance.
Allison Iraheta performs a duet of
Time After Time with Cyndi Lauper.
Danny Gokey takes the stage with Lionel Richie and perform a duet of
Just Go and
All Night Long.
A fully painted Kiss take to the stage with Adam Lambert to sing
Rock 'n Roll All Nite. Awesome!
Carlos Santana performs
Smooth with the Top 13 and then the final Ford commercial of the season.
There's a big surprise for Kris and Adam. Ford have given them both new Hybrids.
Michael Sarver and Steve Martin take to the stage for a duet. Hang on. Steve Martin? He's playing a banjo!
The Idol guys sing
Do Ya Think I'm Sexy but there is no sign of Rod Stewart. And then, there he is, rising out of the bottom of the stage. He sounds terrible as he sings
Maggie May
It's time for the last Golden Idol award of the night. Outstanding Female. Tatiana Del Toro has to be the winner of this award. She rushes the stage while Ryan tries to go to an add break, takes his mike and starts to sing
Saving All My Love (again) while security chase her.
Adam and Kris perform a duet together as the final moments of the show start to air before we get a result. The song?
We are the Champions and are backed up by Queen themselves. What an incredible finish. Adam was outstanding once again and was certainly the more memorable of the two.
It's the final ad break. Next up. The announcement and the winner of American Idol 2009.
Longest ad break in the history of television!
Drum roll please. The winner of American Idol is....
Kris Allen
It was a world record number of votes!
UPSET! That's an amazing result. Kris even says "Adam deserves this". He's a little surprized and overwhelmed.
Kris sings No Boundaries. And that's a wrap!

Congratulations Kris! But I am a little surprized that the dark horse actually managed to pull it off!
Here we are America! The final moments of waiting before the 8th American Idol is crowned.
It's been a season of high expectation that Adam Lambert would take out the title and coming into tonight's Grand Finale, nothing much has changed.
It has come down to this America! Adam Lambert vs Kris Allen. I think the outcome is fairly inevitable but after Kris threw all caution to the wind last week and knocked Danny Gokey out of the race, it really is game on!.
There was a coin toss last week to decide who would be performing when. Kris won and decided to perform second.
There are three songs each tonight. One is chosen by American Idol's creator, Simon Fuller. Of course there will be also be the winners single, No Boundaries, which has been co-written by Kara DioGuardi.
It's going to be a mammoth effort tonight. Who are you backing for the win?

Ryan also warns everyone that if you're not going to watch tomorrow's show live then you'll want to extend your DVR as they're expecting to go over time.
Let's get into the show. First up is Adam with his performance from Year of Birth week.
It's almost a shame that Adam has encored this song. First impressions last and I don't think that was as good second time around.
Randy: I give you an A+ for that one.
Kara: I'm so glad you chose that song. You're an incredible artist. You rocked it again tonight.
Paula: I am unbelievably proud to see you standing on that stage tonight. This is your moment.
Simon: I always thought that was your best performance throughout the series but that was a little over theatrical tonight.
This was a really nice performance. Kris has really grown throughout this season of American Idol and wouldn't surprize me if he snuck home after a performance like that.
Randy: You saved your best till last. That was your best performance on the stage.
Kara: You make it feel as if you're singing directly to us. I love how you connect.
Paula: Allenized!
Simon: When your name was announced last week I wasn't sure if America had made the right decision but after that performance, I take it all back.
Simon calls the first round for Kris Allen. I tend to agree.
I think a more upbeat song would have been better tonight. However, those last few notes were amazing.
Randy: That's an amazing RnB classic and you can sing your face off.
Kara: That may have been your best interpretation of a song in this competition yet.
Paula: That was the best I've ever heard you sing. You are going to be iconic.
Simon: All I would say is you are 100% back in the game.
It was a fun little set but it was a little on the lite side.
Randy: I love this duel. You sang it great but it was a little lite for me.
Kara: You've been true to yourself from day one.
Paula: You tore that song up and made Marvin Gaye proud.
Simon: You did not grab the song and make it your own and it was too laid back for a night like this.
Round two is called to Adam. Easy decision.
Another typical Idol winners song. Probably one of the better ones that we've heard recently.
Randy: I've said it before and I'll say it again. You can sing anything but that wasn't my favorite performance of yours.
Kara: I'm moved and I'm proud of you giving us that moment at the end.
Paula: I'm in awe. You can sing what ever you want and I will be a fan
Simon: It's the mountains and hurricanes that get me. I genuinely believe we've found a world wide star with you.
I think I definitely preferred Adam's version of the song but it really could go either way.
Randy: You've done so well in this competition.
Kara: I don't want you to be judged on that song as I think it was a little high. I hope people vote based on the season.
Paula: I wish you the best of luck. You deserve the spotlight.
Simon: You thoroughly deserve to be standing on that stage tonight.
Yes, we're running over time but there still appears to be time for Carrie Underwood to perform the song that's played as each elimination this year -
Home Sweet Home.
Did Kris and Adam put on a good show tonight despite it being a competition? I think so. Tomorrow night is going to be massive. Performances by some of the music industry's biggest name.
Make sure you join us tomorrow for the spectacle that is the American Idol season finale.
What was that sketch at the top of the show about with Ben Stiller? A nice piece of movie promotion inter weaved with the Idol brand.
Over 88 million votes came in last night and there were less than a million votes separating the Top 2. That certainly makes for an interesting result next week.

Some African kid performs a song as part of the whole Idol Gives Back thing. Texting "Alive" to 90999 will donate $5 to some HIV related charity (Keep a Child Alive). The performance is a little weird and feels out of place. African Idol, yes. American Idol, no. However, if you really want, Noah's performance is available on iTunes if you would like to buy it.
Danny's trip to Milwaukee is up first with a presidential like motorcade to take him to thousands of waiting fans. Danny is reunited with Jamar who was cut just before the top 12. Danny looks pretty emotional as he meets his hometown fans. Crazy times! There is a huge crowd out to see him with the mayor, not to mention the crowd at the baseball stadium.
It's not verdict time for Danny though. Kris takes to the middle of the stage to watch his homecoming video where he went back to Conway, AK. A much smaller crowd but just as vocal on his arrival. Still a lot of people and a ticker-tape parade. What an emotional time with his dad greeting him though.
Ryan is nervous tonight.
Jordin Sparks performs her new single
Battlefield. Does anyone else think her new song sounds a lot like this:
Awesome God
Adam's homecoming to San Diego included one girl who decided to streak his arrival. Check out all those other screaming teenage girls. It's crazy there too. Adam gets a day dedicated to him while a couple of young girls scream at the fact that he signed their shoe.
One final performance before we get to the verdict we've all been waiting for. Katy Perry and
Waking Up In Vegas. She has a terrible outfit on and probably would have been better to have lip synced. Ew.. get on with the results people!
Finally! After the millionth ad break of the night, the lights are dimmed and the results are read out. Kris Allen is through to the Finale next week! Does that mean we're about to say goodbye to Adam Lambert? NO! It's the end of the road for Danny Gokey.
America, your finalists for 2009 are: Kris Allen and Adam Lambert.
Tonight's result show is likely to be massive. I think most people have been expecting an Adam vs Danny final for most of this season of American Idol but Kris certainly threw a spanner in the works last night after his performance of Heartless.
Our poll indicates that Danny Gokey will be the one heading home tonight but as we know in this game, anything can happen. Danny is sitting on 24% while Kris Allen is on 36% and Adam Lambert, 41% of the popular vote.

The second poll regard who do people not want to see in the American Idol grand final is also interesting as it appears Kris is seen as the most deserving of a place with 26% while both Danny and Adam are split on 37%. I imagine that both Danny and Adam's fans believe they could successfully beat Kris in the final vote and would prefer he was in the final as opposed to their stronger competition.
The third poll from last night really shows how Kris hit a home run with his performance of Heartless. I wouldn't be at all surprised if we actually see his version released as a single at some point.
Dial Idol has the results pretty tight. Same order though but 29.55, 27.99 and 27.1 is incredibly close. Are we in for a massive shock tonight?
