Honestly, I can't wait for the American public to grow tired of American Idol. I am sick of watching "The Latest Updates on American Idol" (and all such related news) taking the place of news that matters. After all, nothing significant has been done about Sudan, or recent Chinese repressions or anything approaching those lines.

And yet, most people don't care. They would rather watch American Idol. Frankly, I would agree. Why care about the REAL WORLD when fantasy is so much better. Who cares if a child gets killed because of his origin! Idol is on, and they're announcing the winner! Who gives a frak about civil war in Sudan, or child soldiers in Indonesia! (Insert name here) needs my support to be the very best person in the world!!!

Before you even dare bring up the Idol Gives back bit, just shut up. Raising $71 million is nothing when 2.7 billion people live on less than $2 a day...

At the very least, just rename the show American Idle, because all I see is millions of people who care more about Reality TV than they do about reality.

I was so excited to see he's made it through this far, not that I had any doubt from the minute he opened his mouth and that beautiful voice belted out. I do disagree with Simon about him not looking the part of an Idol, I mean JEESH who sets these standards and who are we talking about  these people being Idols for? There are more than just teenagers out there heck I'm 34 myself and I'm ALWAYS looking for someone I can look up to or learn from. I think thats how we learn. I absolutely adore Taylor and would be proud for any of my kids to Idolize him, from my 17 to my 3 year old. Looking frwrd to following you through your fame Taylor I know it's coming. Taylor Hicks is my favorite idol and has been since the beginning of the season.  He's sincere, talented, handsome, and just plain entertaining. He'll get my votes and my friends votes until the end.  Go Taylor

i disagree taylor cannot even sing that well they should have kicked him and kellie off way before buck and ace..my opinion is, is that taylor needs to stay singing in bars and clubs or at weddings rather than for the public..taylor you're a sweet kid but no, you are not right for this competition...

Taylor is undoubtedly the best performer of the season, and his music that he has already recorded prior to AI, the songs on his CD's Under the Radar and In Your Time will melt your heart and reach in and touch your soul. America Loves You Taylor!!! You ARE the American Idol!!! Can't wait to see you in Portland in Sept! Big Hugs!!

American Idol has lost one viewer, anyway. I do appreciate their introducing some genuine talent to the American public, even though none of them are left. I just can't imagine how the producers of the show feel knowing that at one time they actually had some really good singers on the show, but they managed to lose them all. The American public is really amazingly weird. Elliott was the last one to actually be able to sing, and he gets voted off. Can you imagine a CD with Ms. Katharine (who maybe has just strained her voice, since at one time she was pretty good) or Taylor? It's laughable. But I can't wait to buy Elliott's CD, and I never buy them. I've downloaded all his songs.
