Both finalists were fantastic! David Archuleta was blessed with a special gift - his voice. His ability to sing has opened doors that many young teens don't have an opportunity to experience. Despite being runner-up, his consistent performances on American Idol proves he's still a winner. David Cook was destin to win. Talk about fate! He went to support his younger brother at auditions, and now he's the winner. It was humbling to see how proud his younger brother feels towards him. David Cook works the stage and draws in the crowd like he's been doing this forever! Since day one, my husband said he will win because he has a distinctive voice. My husband was right! Look forward to listening to future music from both. Congratulations!

Secondly, I want to applaud you for getting out of the "black" sterotype and enjoying rock music. Shit look at Howard from Killswitch, or Lejon from Sevendust, they are leading the way for black rockers throughout the world. I again thank you for being awesome.

If everyone actually voted on the performances of each singer, rather than then the type of singer each one is, (example: ballad, rocker) then hands down, David A would win. He has had the most amazing voice all season, and is the only one that has "grown" in his ability to sing. David C has done the same thing over and over and that is scream in each and every song, and his stuff is so predictable. I think David C has become cocky and for that reason, I've lost my respect for him as a singer. I think his tears tonight were fake, and he had a shut off valve on them. I would love to see David A win, however, it would be in his best interest not to win, because there will be so many labels waiting to grab him up, and make no mistake, he will make it big, win or lose!!!
It just really sucks when the public makes up their mind before the final even started!

I dont think so. I mean, David A. seems extremely FAKE to me- has anyone noticed that he always acts like hes about to cry but tears NEVER COME OUT? He makes the same face that most actors do in "touching" moments. He also just chose a song he already sang- not anything new, he didnt challange himself at all. David COok, on the other hand, did something DIFFERENT, had real emotion, and seems sincerely nice. I cant imagine listening to a 20 song CD from David A. -endless inspirational ballads and so on. He never did anythign FUN. WHose CD would you rather listen to on a long roadtrip?

Cook won't last. He is like every other rock singer out there. He has a really good rock voice, but he's just not unique enough for me. I actually can't think of anyone around today that sounds like Archuleta. The kid has soul, which is pretty great considering his age. I think he'll go on to be a great artist and in a few years, I think he'll be a really great song writer too.

Each candidate that VFTW selected ended up losing so I don't think they have much of an effect. They just select one of the remaining contestants and then they say that they have a new "worst" person.....It's stupid......
