i love you david i watch american idol every tuesday and wednesday and i watch it just for you!!!
david archuleta deserves to be the next american idol
david archuleta deserves to be the next american idol
I Think he is too hyped.
Peersonally I thing his voice is very good.
but I can't say I like any of his preformances.
Singing is one thing. preforming is another.
I don't feel he has preformed well enough to be the next American Idol. I hope whoever gets Season 7 American Idol they are the best preformer. If David A. could actually preform at a great level I would change my opinion. right now I have to say I don't Like him for The American Idol.
I love you david

Ok, David just performed Stand By Me...and their is something I've been wanting to say the past few weeks. He sincerely does not realize how good he is. When Ryan called out his name last week and told him he was safe to continue on to the final four, the look on David's face was of genuine surprise and relief. And then again tonight, he listened to the judges and his reaction is like he's been picked to go to Hollywood for the first time.
I've said it before and will say it again...David Cook is the Daughtry (spelling) of the season. He's got his contract and will do well, but David A will be the next American Idol and the producers will be lining Music Row in Nashville fighting each other for this young man to sign with them. Folks, if you don't believe me, download some of his songs off itunes. Dolly Parton's "Smokie Mountain Memories" is the perfect example. If this is but a sample of what he can do, well I'm looking forward to many years and projects from David.

For me David is the best singer, among all the contestants of american idol this year n_n because he can sing any kind of songs, and he can sing it very well,so for me David will be the absolutely winner .so keep up the good work David,i'm always be here to cheer you, haha,,,your so cute david.you deserved being an american idol this year....mwa mwa n_n
Right from day 1 of this contest, I spoted David Archuleta.
Go boy!!!!!. I have made up my mind that I will buy every album that voice of yours produces. Fantastic voice. Your are great boy and I am 100% positive you will win the American Idol.
Mark
David C vs. David A. I've started to analyze these two. David C has swept everyone off of their feet by singing a different version of very popular songs. He has made me stand up and cheer just like Randy did. However, what is going to happen when he starts singing songs that nobody knows? So far, the songs that he has sung that haven't been popular have been just ok. He can be very successful at re-arranging old favorites and making them more modern. On the other hand, David A has a beautiful voice. The not as popular or unknown songs that he has sung have succeeded due to his pitch perfect voice and connecting with the audience with his inspirational personality. Both will be very successful. However, I give the edge to David A due to his voice and turning every song he sings (popular or not) into gold.
David Archuleta........keep smiling....we love to see your handsome cute face everyweek. SMILE!!!!! SMILE!!!!!! SMILE !!!!!!!! SMILE !!!!!!!!!!
David Archuleta .... a face of an angel.......a voice of a rising star .......a face of an american idol winner!!!!!! You are the star !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
well, for sure David A. has a cute smile and he can sing too , but when he is singing I dont see/hear a 17 year old, all I see/ hear is a nice voice .. .... he is not strong enough, he needs more time to find himself..
but keep singing David A. I'm sure what we see on T.V. is not the real you. I think you are way too careful!!!maybe one day you show America what you really can do with your voice rather than singing same safe notes. and remember having a great voice is like you have a guitar but you dont want to play all the notes.
On that note
DAVID COOK is THE BESTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!
I knew from the onset you were a Cook fan. It seems to be a consistent theme with Cook fans that Archuleta "is boring" or "too young" or "sounds the same every week". Cook fans should know what they're talking about...cuz their "boy" is the perfect example of predictability and "been there...done that".
Archuleta has shown time and again that his vocal range is off the charts. Personally, I believe he has gotten stronger (vocally) as the weeks go by. This past week was amazing and anyone who says he didn't dominate just aren't being fair and honest. Cook can belt out a toon for sure, but his song selections this week were not good...plain and simple. I would love to hear Archuleta sing some Marvin Gaye...or Brian McKnight...cuz that's his niche. Cook is Cook...but Archuleta has a voice worth listening to.
Actually his vocal range is very limited. He is extreamly comfortable in the low ranges but does have trouble with his high pitch. (he is not horrible at it by any means, it's just that you are incorrect in your analysis of your 'boy' too).
I would say David A is a Mezzo Soprano and would have a hard time hitting and holding low C so I would not say his range is off the charts. In fact I think David C and Syesha would mop the floor with him on the brighter high notes. Range goes to Cook. Now his pitch of the notes he does sing are extreamly good.
your comments are as subjective as everyone elses.
they are both exceptional.
for updates, David's b-day is 12-28-1990.
I LOVE YOU DAVID ARCHULETA!!!!!!!! even if you dont win american idol, i will buy all of ur cds etc.... everything. If he doesnt win hell still make it far. that is because he is a star. i hate david cook though. he way too full of himself. sure he has an ok voice, but is he humble like archuleta? no. is he the best singer like archuleta? no.
You may think David Cook is a jerk for being arrogant, but if your not full of yourself when your performing (like archuletta) you look like a scared little idiot. Maybe archuletta would have a better chance of winning if he managed to take more than two steps in a performance. He can have all the vocal range in the world but that won't help if he's boring
I thought it was a singing competition ? How do you think a person with all the vocal range in the world is boring ? Because he isn't Taylor Hicks and prancing all around the place ? I disagree with you. There are 10 million fans alone out there that can't wait to hear his voice every Tuesday. He's original, can straight blow like no other, and could just sit behind the piano if he wanted to and still entertain. Without taking 1 step.
"I thought it was a singing competition"
You thought incorrectly. Singing is a major part of the show, but as Simon pointed out to Carly on her wardrobe, and as Andrew Llyod Webber pointed out to David to open his eyes when he sings... what they are doing is trying to help them understand that singing is just part of the package. The kid can sing and has one of the most powerful voices I have heard in a long time, heck teach him Italian and send him to italy for a while and I am willing to bet he could even give opera a good go.
Unfortunately what he really needs to work on is his entertainment skills. Sure he can sit behind a piano and sing... But he is still boring to watch. Go take a look at an old Elton John performance behind a the piano, what you will see is the difference between an entertainer and a singer. Little David A. needs to grow a bit and get more confidence and if he can do that nobody on the show will touch him.
We tune in to be entertained, his voice may be the strongest… but he can be beat by an entertainer with a strong voice.
So David Archuleta... Is the best.... He has the best vocals and style and everything and i dont believe he is boring what so ever. He brings himself to the show... He's a little shy but cute & adorable and him self. You can tell that he is up there because he loves to sing for ppl. I think David Archuleta has the whole package. He can sing anything and it sounds good. The rest of the idols can only sing a few things and it sounds good. He's the most unique one out of them all because he no matter what is himself. I hope he is the nest american idol. If you think hes boring you dont know what talent or good entainment is....
Alumni, you sure ? You sure its not a singing competition ?
yes.
It's based off Pop Idol a British television series which debuted on ITV 2001; the show was a talent contest to decide the best new young 'pop idol', in the United Kingdom, based on viewer voting and participation.
It's meant to be a singing contest, but it's not. It's a popularity contest. If this were a singing contest they would have told young Mr. David A. that he wins at the start.
And if it were an actual "singing comp." Jason Castro would not have the chance to be compared vocally with anyone in the top 10 >.>
Ok Alumni...the key element here is IDOL...which is defined as "any person or thing regarded with blind admiration, adoration, or devotion". That's what David Archuleta is...his is idol material because he appeals to the masses with his genuine nature. Humbleness and shyness are not negatives. Pacing back and forth on stage while singing a song does not make a person entertaining. I don't understand what is so wrong with a singer standing on stage just looking out and singing to their fans. I agree...he is young, but he has so much going for him already...he's getting better and better every week. The kid is amazing.
I keep on listening to him When You Believe it gives me a goose bump. This boy can sing anything and he has the quality of a great, great singer and when he deliver his lyrics you can really understand what he was saying - no wonder he connect so well with his audience and very humble kid you can see it in him and he inspired a lot of people; that's why a lot of people love him in all walks of life: Kid, Old, Young, Different Nationality All Over The World - I saw some bloggers were so upset that they cannot vote for him for they are from another country. I know once his CD is out I could tell it will be a HIT and #1 in the Chart. It will be the best selling Album and will break the record of All American Idol Winners.
Just remain humble David. All your dream will come true - that is why God give you that gift to inspire a lot of people and give them hope by listening to your song.
God Bless,
STOP FIGHTING, David Archuleta will WIN.
He is the EPITOME OF THE REAL AMERICAN IDOL !!!
That is exactly the problem.... HE IS BORING!!!
Im sure he will have a CD, and I want to see you listen to the whole thing and tell me otherwise... or better yet, watch all of his performances on youtube, by the 3rd one, all of them sound the same...
Give me an example of an artist who doesn't sound the same whenever they perform...(and if you even say Dave Cook...it will immediately disqualify you as a legitimate debator on this subject)...it's called artistic style.
Archuleta has a niche...and he goes with it...if you don't like...don't listen...don't buy his CDs. You're probably a Cook fan who thinks that grunting, "I'm slightly consitpated" vocal style is new and trend setting...I like a singer I can understand...not one who mumbles his way through a song. I won't buy Cook's music simply becaus I don't like it...and you don't like Archuleta's style...faire enough.
(and if you even say Dave Cook...it will immediately disqualify you as a legitimate debator on this subject)
David Cooks MOM!
Your point is valid. The reason you like David Cook or David A. is simply because of their sound (which by definition means they should sound the same each time they sing).
I prefer Cooks music, but little David is very good too. I am not like most of you passionate freaky fans out there that 'idolize' either contestant… (kinda think it's a little creepy to be honest, but hey! it's your choices. lol.
I just enjoy the high's and low's of the show (pun intended), and will watch the show till the end even if Paula is a Drunken drugged up spineless fraction of a judge.
I'm sorry, but I think David A. is HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY overrated. If this were a vote for high school prom king, then fine...but this is a singing competition!!! He's NOT original or oustandlingly special with any of his renditions and he's all nasal. I'm not saying that he can't sing, but I think it's nowhere near the quality that everyone is making it out to be. David C., Sayesha, and Carly out-sing and most importantly OUT-PERFORM him week after week and yet David A gets "best show of the night" week after week. Can anybody say "rigged"? Will they ever learn that targeting the Jordin Sparks teeny-bopper crowd may have worked for Kelly Clarkson for a while, but with all the true PERFORMERS and multi-threat talents out now, David A.'s album will be as low selling as Jordin Sparks. If it weren't for the other contestants, I would've stopped watching because it's starting to piss me off.
It'll be a damn shame if he wins....damn shame.
BOOOOOOOO........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
are you jealous? well, if you hate him, don't comment! this is not for fighting and not for david A.'s haters... Scram!
Do you think the guy above needs attention from girls?
There are many reasons why David Archuleta will be the nxet American Idol. For me, he's young, cute and very lovely. He has a smile of an angel that we want to see him everyday, everyminute. He's talented, he knows how to pick an exactly song. Above all, he sings so emotinal, so connected. It's like saying all your emotions, all your thoughts. It's like he's standing there for you, for me and for us. Everytime I see him, I see him so perfect. He my No.1 Idol. I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!
Evan, you're a retard. I already have a CD of David Archuleta's songs. I made it up myself of the songs off of YouTube and some other old songs I found. I play it all the time at home and in the car.
I don't buy CDs but I'll buy everything David Archuleta ever puts out. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE his beautiful, powerful, emotive vocals.
I've already called to see about getting tickets to the Idols tour. It's 300 miles one-way to get there. The last concert I went to was across town. It was Edgar Winter and I saw him in the 1970s. Does that tell you anything about how much I like David Archuleta? It should.
Maybe you're into hard rock. Fine. David won't be your cup of tea. But, there are MILLIONS of us out here who love his incredibly beautiful, passionate voice. You don't like him. Too bad. There are lots of rock bands, metal, rap, country bands, classical, and opera, for you. We'll take David.
After I listened to him on YouTube sing those Christmas songs, old version of Angels, I'll Be, etc., I decided that if there was beauty like that in the world and I wasn't listening, I was foolish and missing out. No longer. I'm listening to popular music for the first time in more than 20 years. I'm loving it, too, so you can take your nasty, hateful attitude and stuff it where the sun don't shine.
Go, David! We're behind you all the way!
so true. if they are into rock fine but david A's music is soothing and if more people listened to his kind of music maybe the world wouldn't be so violent. rock is fine if you like the wildness and loudness but we also need the sincere, pasionate voices also. david is young and in the future he will get even better i'm sure but for now i think he's doing great. i do think he could be a little livelier as we listen we also tend to look at our singers actions. for his age he is a very serious kid and so talented. but i think everyone has a chance of winning and the right one will be picked if people will react to the talent and not looks or how old they appear on stage.
David A. is soo talented and deserves to win!
He has the best voice out of all of the contestants and has what it takes to be a star!
GO DAVID A.!
But I think he always started singing with not-that-good sound although he soar at the end...
I like David Archuleta, I really do. He's a good singer for a 17-year old teenager, better than I ever was at that age. I like his voice but I'm afraid it will NOT last.
He is still growing up which means his voice will change. His voice won't sound the same or similar 2-3 years from now as it does now. That is why I believe he will not win. I also believe it'll be the David's in the Finals with David Cook winning the show.
I also agree with evan to an extent. David has a good voice and can sing fairly well but the genre he's so good at singing will not sell very many CD's. He'll have a successful singing career but not a platinum singer or multi-platinum singer. I believe his career will last as long as his soft, young voice holds out but I think it'll only last probably 3 years max.
One negative critic I don't like about his voice is the same one I have about Jason Castro. His voice is way too soft to make it into mainstream media. His voice is just way to soft to constantly bring in strong fans that'll continue to buy his records. The difference between Archuleta and Castro are worlds apart though. I can't stand Jason Castro as his voice is way to soft and he can't sing worth a crap. He has one genre he can fall into and that's the only way he sounds good. Jason can't belt out notes like Archuleta can and that's the difference between the 2.
I believe it'll be Archuleta and David Cook in the finals, with Cook winning.
david archuleta sucks! no one would buy his freakin cd thats way he should go home! I mean really, cmon, guys, he's an okay singer, but his style is like listening to piles of crap. NO ONE listens to anything he does. David Cook is a heck of a lot better, and at least David Cook doesnt make out with his own lips every performance
Wow dude. David's the real deal, and any hate from random people like you is pure jealousy. He's got the talent, the look, and the smarts to be a star and he will definantly win.
And by the way that "crap" that Savid sings must be some pretty good crap because he's been winning over the judges comments with it.
Honestly, how many of you people can say you listen to the "slow songs that make me want to think about my life/get depressed" genre. He has good vocal range, but he wouldn't last a minute in the real world where popular music is either rock or rap
Oh my...I didn't know record producers commented on blogs...idiot. You think that rock and rap are the only successful genres out there...how narrow minded. I guess you must be the ultimate trend setter to know that information.
There are many different genres. Sara Brightman is a platinum selling artist in the opera genre...there is plenty of room for Archuleta to do well...and I believe he will. He'll have a platinum CD by Christmas...releasing a holiday CD around that time that will also sell.
You've been listening to rap and emo-rock too much dude...THAT'S why you're depressed...and maybe you SHOULD listen to Archuleta to get you to start thinking about your life...LOL!
Good luck David A. You are incredibly sweet and almost unaware of how very talented you are!! I really hope you win...I think you deserve it. So I'm gonna keep on voting for you!
God Thor, are you done complaining yet? I think Carly is good, so shut up.
David, your pretty cool, nice voice dude
LIES! LIES! LIES!
Carly Smithson is a liar. And a really bad one at that. Ever since we broke the story that she would be on the show this year, we knew something was off with her. And it seems that it's not just something, it's everything. The girl can barely keep her lies straight. Just in case you feel bad for her lame sob stories or feel compelled to vote for her, step away from the telephone. Read on and find out how absolutely nothing said by this lying plant, who only got on the show due to working with Randy Jackson years ago at MCA records, is the truth. We'll also keep this updated with new lies as Carly weaves a tangled web of lame falsities.
(Last Updated on 3/11/0
LIE #1: "My name is Carly Smithson."
No, it's not. Your name is Carly Hennessy. Sure, Carly married Todd Smithson 2 years ago. But she oh so conveniently changed her name only a few months ago for the show. When JoesPlace revealed spoilers for this season, Carly's name was revealed as Carly Hennessy, because that's how she was known in Hollywood. She was even playing shows as late as November of last year under her maiden name. So why suddenly change it? Because, of course, she was trying to hide her past. Like everything else she does though, Carly did it incredibly poorly.
LIE #2: "My record company imploded."
Carly was a colossal flop in 2001. Her record "Ultimate High" tanked miserably. Even in 2002, when anyone with common sense knew that no one wanted to buy Carly's failed album, MCA Records still tried to promote Carly in Europe unsuccessfully. MCA merged with Geffen Records in 2003. Successful and talented artists like Mary J. Blige, Common, Blink-182, and the Roots made an easy transition over to the new label. So where did Carly go? She was dumped long before the merger in 2002. So her record company never imploded, and even if id had, the company merged and dissolved a full year after Carly was given the old heave-ho. Artists on Geffen still recorded successful albums. Carly even claims on the official Idol site that her friends would be shocked to learn she owns a Blink-182 album. So Carly even knows some bands survived the so-called implosion that never existed.
LIE #3: "I made a record, but I never did stage performances at all."
Carly told Zap2It that she may have had a record deal, but she never performed on the stage, so she's at a disadvantage too. This is one of the stupidest lies she's ever told, as she has a ton of stage experience. First, she toured in Les Miserables as one of the leads when she was 9. She performed at the WKRZ 20th Anniversary Show, then a series of 5 shows around the country to promote her horrible single, at a concert in 2002 for over 100,000 people in Dublin, even still performing as late as 2006 and 2007. And those are just the ones we can find proof of. This lie makes even less sense than the others!
LIE #4: "We can pick any song we want on American Idol."
In the semifinals, this year the contestants were limited to choosing from a list of about 50 songs each week, which is why they all chose such idiotic songs. And Garrett Haley mentioned that the contestants are asked to pick 3 songs from the list and then are at the mercy of the producers deciding which they can sing. So to counteract this, Carly says in an Entertainment Weekly interview: “They're all saying online that we have a list to pick from. I believe we had a list in Hollywood week, and it was a big list; we had a lot of songs to choose from. But since the live shows have started, we get to choose whatever we like, which is great.” Why are we saying this online? Because Garett acknowledged it, and Nigel Lythgoe, the executive producer of Idol, even acknowledged it here. Silly Carly can’t even keep up the lie, completely contradicting the other contestants in the interview who say they have to pick from a list. It doesn’t even benefit her to make this up, as she looks foolish contradicting the producer.
LIE #5: "My record failed because of 9/11."
As if her lies weren’t ridiculous enough, Carly has the audacity to blame her failure on the terrorist attacks of 9/11. “It was gaining traction, she said, but then 9/11 happened and “nobody was interested in shopping a new record.” Sure, 9/11 killed your record. “I’m Gonna Blow Your Mind” was released as a single in early 2001. It failed due to because no one wanted to hear an 18 year old sing about blow jobs. Then, 9/11 happened, and “Beautiful You” was offered up as the second single in November 2001. So the record company didn’t ditch her at all. In fact, they released a second song, shortly after 9/11 to try to help promote her. Her album was then released on November 13, 2001, a full 2 months after 9/11, and it still didn’t sell. As a comparison, crappy rockers Nickelback actually released their album on 9/11. Their music is worse than Carly’s, yet it sold relatively well, and they had a #1 hit by the end of the year with “How You Remind Me.” Looks like 9/11 didn’t hurt that new artist’s career.
LIE #6: "This is my second chance."
It's more like her 500th chance. This girl has been trying to become famous since she was little. Her mom was even a celebrity. "[My mom] was one of Ireland's top models so when I was born all the photographers wanted to take pictures of me. I grew up and got to go to work with her so all the photographers knew me. Auditions would come for different advertisements and the photographers would say, "Oh, we'll just use Carly." It was insane; I'd be on four commercials at a time around Dublin. So I was very well known growing up." Chance one. Singing in Les Miserables and having a record come out at age 9. Chance two. Her album "Ultimate High". Chance three. Trying out for American Idol two seasons ago. Chance four. Trying out again. Chance five. How many chances does someone get? No one wanted to hear her the last four times, why should chance five be any different?
So you see, Carly is not just a Sanjaya-hating loser. She's a liar. A really big one. If you feel compelled to vote for her, don't bother. I'm sure she's blowing Nigel Lythgoe's "mind" as we speak and she's in no danger of leaving the competition. But one day, this plant will wilt again, as history shows it always has, and it will be pretty funny to see the reactions. We'll see what kind of lies Carly will come up with then!
