David Archuleta is the perfect American Idol. He is a winner that will rise to the top. He most definitely has the talent. He is cute and appeals to young girls. (I could not help but think of Donny Osmond's "Puppy Love" as he sang "Love Me Tender" with such innocence.) Most importantly, he is very pliable: perfect for 19 Entertainment. Archuleta does need to work on using the stage, but he takes instruction very easily and will become a master performer.
The votes will continue to pour in for David Archuleta as he is a favorite not only for young girls willing to spend hours dialing in, but for those who appreciate a quality singer.
David Archuleta looks like the ideal winner — a young boy with a big voice, who has a video clip that shows how he sang for Season 1 winner Kelly Clarkson, and who sang “America,” a performance that practically shouts, “Vote for ME, America!”
Not that this will surprise anyone, but David Archuleta has to be considered the front-runner after all three judges praised his vocal prowess and he blew away the competition with his renditions of "Love Me Tender" and "Stand By Me" during Rock & Roll Hall of Fame week.
David Archuleta, the 17-year-old on the show, has the ability and talent to become American Idol's 2008 winner. This gentle, young man, it is said, has overcome partial vocal paralysis without resorting to risky surgery. Challenges seem to be right up his alley. And he isn't proudly trying to remind us all of it, either; he just graciously takes his "rightful" place on stage and gives us his all.
He presents himself very well in front of a crowd and why wouldn't he? He is no stranger to the stage and ironically seems to have begun his performance career at only 10 years old in Utah singing a Dolly Parton song called, "I Will Always Love You."
With all the confidence of a seasoned singer, this 17-year-old stares straight into the camera and hugs you with those innocent eyes. His fans feel it and are lulled into near silence when he begins to sing, only breaking out into the "I Love You David" chorus when there is an opening for them to be heard.
GO DAVID ARCHULETHA............
