Only two people have the talent to carry the tradition set by Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. Two people lack the talent and will follow the trend set by the illiterate Phantasia, and the people's choice (not solely based on talent) Rueben. It would appear that America is going to wear talent blinders this season as they did in seasons 2 & 3. Chris and Catherine will sell millions of records but for neither will it be as an American Idol. The two that will end up in the final, Taylor and Elliot will follow the trend set by Phantasia and Rueben. Or should I say Phantasia and Rueben who? Oh well, perhaps they may be able to work an airport lounge someday, their collective AI performances thus far have indicated that should probably be their career choice if they wish to work in the music industry. Thank goodness Chris and Catherine will own their own planes and not have to listen to them.
