It's another big results show tonight as one more heads home. With only 2 weeks to go, will the judges use the save and leave two people to go home next week?
The Top 7 perform
Maniac from Flashdance before we head to the first ad break of the night.

Zac Efron is in the studio after the idols when to the premiere of 17 Again last night after American Idol.
It's time to find out who is safe and who is not. Allison Iraheta is safe. Adam Lambert is also safe. Anoop Desai has to take the walk across the stage though.
American Idol's only Grammy Oscar Award winner, Jennifer Hudson, is back on Idol after being eliminated. She's singing
If This Isn't Love from her debut album. It's quite a nice pop song. Some big notes at the end too.
More results and Simon tells Kris Allen that he thought he was brilliant last night since he didn't get a chance to critique him. Kris is safe. Lil Rounds is in the Bottom three. Danny Gokey is also safe which means Matt Giraud is in the bottom three.
Anoop Desai is safe and sent back to the couches.
Miley Cyrus aka Hannah Montana sings
The Climb. She's incredibly pitchy.
The moment of truth arrives and the Idol with the lowest number of votes from the 36 million votes that were cast is Matt Giraud. Will the Judges use the save?
Matt sings for his life. The judges deliberate. The decision is made. Matt is... *audience chants Save, Save, Save*
Matt is safe and the judges have used the save! No one is going home this week but next week will be a double elimination.
Next week is disco week so it's gonna be tough!
Bottom Three
Anoop Desai (safe)
Lil Rounds
Matt Giraud
Another week, another elimination. Tonight, the polls are split again. Both Idolblog and Rickey have Lil Rounds a long way off the pace but Dial Idol has her in second place. Crazy!
Our bottom three according to your votes are Anoop Desai, Matt Giraud and Lil Rounds.
And when it comes to who you want to see leaving, it's Lil again with 62% of the vote.
Results and more live performances shortly. Stay tuned!
Tonight our Top 7 are performing music from the movies and have spent the week with movie producing legend Quentin Tarantino.
After last week's complaints of over talking and going over time, this week there will only be comments from two of the judges. Make no mistake though. It was Kara and Paula that blabbered on extending the show into over time meaning those who were recording missed the end of Adam's song and the start of Fringe was delayed.
Let's get into the show.

Allison is the one contestant that has really shown growth from week to week and that was no exception.
Paula: You possess the same special sauce that Adam does. You are one remarkable, talented young lady.
Simon: I think you are the girls only hope left in this competition. I don't think I've heard a girl sing that so well and I think we could see you all the way through to the end now.
Anoop has learnt that fun isn't safe so he's sticking to slow emotive songs.
Randy: You have found your zone and you're rocking the house now.
Kara: You've definitely found your place. I really felt connected to you singing.
It's like 80's metal is making a run for charts again and I like it.
Paula: You dare to dance in the path of greatness. Fortune rewards the brave and you're one of the bravest contestants we've ever had.
Simon: Vocally, incredible. However, I think the audience will be torn and I don't think that will be as popular as your performance from last week.
It's nice and he looks smart in that vest sitting centre stage at a grand piano. But it's a little uninspiring.
Randy: You can't try and do all that stuff in a song. You fell down more times than you stood up.
Kara: It's two steps forward and then... You took away some of the core melody that makes that song great. When you do that, it has to be a masterpiece.
I really like this song but again, Gokey hasn't done it for me.
Paula: I wasn't sure that should have been a little lower. But you slay us at the end.
Simon: I'm a little disappointed. I was kinda a bit bored. Having said that, I congratulate you for the emotional connection with the song.
That was fairly heartfelt.
Randy: No on for me. I love that song but it was pitchy from note one.
Kara: For me it was one of those moments.
Ryan tells Simon his comment was indulgent and predictable.
This is a great song. It
Paula: beautiful lyric well done on making it this far
Simon: you are not the artist i thought we found a few weeks ago.
And look at that, we're over time agan and we took out half of the comments. Crazy. Someone is either doing their job incredibly badly or incredibly well. :)
Its the same old story.....Popular famous Actor/Acress leaves a TV show to persue other avenues of the entertainment industry....preferably film. Two years later....who remembers them!
Why do people who are the leaders in the industry decide to "move on" instead of staying 'til the end of a show that has cause them increased monetary value, notoriety, and everything that they have wished and worked hard to acheive since childhood? It just makes me scratch my head.
This season has seen some top acts hit the American Idol stage as the recording industry embraces the opportunity for artists to get some awesome exposure resulting in significant chart climbing. However, the inclusion of Flo Rida's
Right Round in this weeks elimination has drawn fire from critics who are questioning the traditionally family-friendly show's decision.
One long time Idol watcher posted a comment and said "While I might encounter some sharp comments directed toward contestants from the judges, there has never been anything on a live show that I have needed to explain to my now 6-year old son."
Tonight's inclusion of a performance by Flo Rida where the lyrics referred to strippers dancing on poles and "going down" seriously disappointed me and has made me re-think my assessment of AI as a whole.
What's your opinion on the inclusion of Flo Rida on this weeks elimination show?
i hate Simon tonight. He should save Scott, he does not deserve to go home, poor man. The one should go home is Lil, she sings suck.....suck. Simon should go with her, got damn it.....fuck Simon....
It's result night again. One more is going home. Who will it be?
To celebrate the music from the year they were born, Frankie Avalon comes out to perform
Venus to celebrate the year Simon was born - 1959.
The Top 8 then perform
Can't Get You Out Of My Head from the year Idol was born - 2001
And to the results! Adam Lambert, Kris Allen and Anoop Desai are asked to stand. Adam is safe. Kris is also taking a seat while Anoop is in the bottom three.
Danny Gokey is safe. Matt Giraud is also safe. Scott MacIntyre is in the bottom three.
Flo Rida entertains us with
Right Round but wouldn't have made it passed the first round of auditions on American Idol.
Allison Iraheta is safe but Lil Rounds is in the Bottom Three.
Season 5's Kellie Pickler is back again performing
Best Days of Your Life.
Lil is sent back to the couches.
From the 34 million votes cast there were less than 30,000 votes between Anoop and Scott. Scott's number is up though. Scott wails his way through his chance to convince the judges that he should stay but it's not going to be enough.
Apparently the judging panel is torn. It's split 2/2. Simon makes the call and Scott is going home.
Bottom Three
Anoop Desai (Bottom Two)
Scott MacIntyre
Lil Rounds (SAFE)
It's the songs from the years they were born for the Top 8 of Season 8 of American Idol tonight as they once again strive and sing to earn our vote.
Let's get into the show with the oldest contestant:

I'm so thankful that this isn't the usual boring versions this song normally produces.
Randy: You made me love it.
Kara: Also wondered about the arrangement but you turned it on its head.
Paula: You have opened the show by setting the bar very high.
Simon: Overall, great.
Kris had fun with this song but it was a little dull for me compared to his last few weeks.
Randy: When something is already great you don't need to change the arrangement. You're in the competition not the song.
Kara: I was excited that you picked an uptempo song but that lost a bit of its youth.
Paula: You have to be one of the most likeable contestants we've ever had.
Simon: It was indulgent, boring, forgettable. So am I but it's not about that. You came across as an artist who wants to sing rather than a singer.
Ryan tells Simon his comment was indulgent and predictable.
Lil doesn't really seem to be taking this competition seriously and is in cruise control.
Randy: We love you but you need to listen to our advice.
Kara:
Paula: You needed to put your own stamp on that.
Simon: We're not looking for a third rate version of Tina Turner. We seem to have lost you. You have to start becoming original.
Anoop is back to the slow songs tonight which is definitely where he impresses more.
Randy: You pulled it back and it was hot. Very nice vocal.
Kara: Tonight you showed you can take a pop song and...
Paula: Your voice is truly magical.
Simon: You're like a singing yo-yo. This week you were up. I didn't think it was fantastic though.
I hated that. Pitchy and plain boring.
Randy: It didn't showcase you as one of the best undiscovered talents in America.
Kara: Who knew you could play the guitar. I'm not sure I would have picked that song for you.
Paula: I was a little confused by you playing an electric guitar. Overall, bravo.
Simon: I would suggest you go back the piano next week. The song was horrible. The guitar playing wasn't much better.
I really liked that this week from Allison.
Randy: You remind me of the girl who first won this thing. You need to engage the public a little bit more.
Kara: You are talent. Let's go make a record.
Paula: I loved your tender approach.
Simon: I thought that was very good. We just need to make you more likeable as I don't think your personality is coming across yet.
There were some pretty good moments in that.
Randy: Vocally, best of the night.
Kara: Wow.
Paula: Standing O.
Simon: Million times better than last week.
Wow. Each week Adam impresses me. That was superb!
Simon: Words are uneccesary. I'm the only one speaking and I'm giving you a standing ovation
Of course the show is over time. Tomorrow night Flo Rider and Kellie Pickler will be performer before one more will be sent home.
American Idol Carrie Underwood has been named Entertainer of the Year at the 44th Academy of Country Music Awards breaking Kenny Chesney's four year winning streak.
Carrie also took home an award for Top Female Vocalist.
I'm sorry Simon, but the game has passed you by. You look absolutely flabby when your wearing your see-through white t-shirts. You are actually hard to look at and forces my wife and daughter to hold up there hands and mask your lower half. I know in England your probably considered quite a classy guy, but the fact is your just old and I bounce between thinking tone deaf or just plain hateful.
