Variety is reporting that Ellen Degeneres has left American Idol
Ellen DeGeneres won't be returning to "American Idol" next season.
DeGeneres' exit is part of the massive "Idol" overhaul currently underway, as Fox and producers FremantleMedia and 19 Ent. look to reboot the popular brand.
DeGeneres said she told Fox and the "Idol" producers months ago that she wasn't comfortable with returning for a second go-round on the show.
"I told them I wouldn't leave them in a bind and that I would hold off on doing anything until they were able to figure out where they wanted to take the panel next," DeGeneres said. " It was a difficult decision to make, but my work schedule became more than I bargained for."
Lee is charismatic, nice-looking and has a good voice--and the fact that he won is water under the bridge--being negative is so juvenile. I think he will do fine and hope he sells a lot of records.

It should be Crystal, right? Dial Idol's poll has it as Lee Dewyze. Our poll is very close with 51% to Lee and 49% to Crystal Bowersox.
However, interestingly enough, Crystal's song has preferred by more people with 58% over Lee's 42%.

Why would they choose Beautiful Day for Lee? No one should cover a U2 song and especially that one that has so much meaning underlying it. It should only be done by U2 in my opinion. I thought Crystal's song was much better suited to her and she did an amazing job. Go Crystal
