It's been a long time coming but we're almost there. Tonight, our final two Idols perform for your vote before one of them will be crowned the next American Idol tomorrow night at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood. Will it be Katharine McPhee? Will it be Taylor Hicks?

The odds are stacked against Taylor as previous girl/guy combinations in the grand final have always seen the girl come out on top. Will Taylor be able to turn the tide and finally win one for the team? In a little over 24 hours, the votes will all be tallied and the winner will be announced.

Tonight, our finalists will again perform three songs. Two of them we've heard before. One of them will be the winner's single which will no doubt be number one on the Billboard charts in weeks to come.

My Thoughts: The game is on tonight people. Taylor is great with this song and you can tell he's come to play. He sounds fantastic and once again he's showing all of the personality that has got him to the Grand Final. Great start to the show tonight.

My Thoughts: I was amazed at how Katharine was able to make a song that I really am quite tired and bored of so fresh sounding. Definitely another great song choice for this finale show.

My Thoughts: This certainly wouldn't have been my choice as one of Taylor's best performances from the season. I think he's let himself down with that performance. It would have been much better to have seen more of the energetic, personality filled Taylor that everyone loves.

My Thoughts: Listening to a new song for the first time can be strange. Especially when you know that it's likely to go straight to number one. My first impression is that the key was a little low. It's a very typical Idol song and I'm sure it will grow on me but I always feel like these singles are safe.

My Thoughts: I think Taylor's song is the better of the two. It seems to be more 'him'. Lines like "never been afraid of standing out" really suit him. I love Katharine but I think this competition is Taylor's to lose.
