UNBELIEVABLE!! American Idol was soooo cruel tonight!  How they treated Chris was shameful!  I think all four of those guys should stick together and make music together. They were thoroughly entertaining together tonight.  If anybody should go home it should've been Hicks.  Sorry Hicks, I think the other guys were better.

I have been really into this season but could really care less if i finish watching now!! i totally agree... I truly believe after this crap that AI is fixed!!! I cannot stand Elliott & if he ends up AI i will never watch this again as i don't believe its real anymore!!!

Oh please. Chris Daughtry sucks and sounds like every other generic alt-"rocker" on the radio these days. Atleast the three that are left have a chance of sounding somewhat original when they put a record out. The judges made me laugh every time they said he "made the song(s) his own". That's true, I suppose -- but he did so by butchering them completely. It's akin to Nickelback singing the Beatles. They could make them their own, sure... but would suck all of the life out of them in the process.

Get real.  This isn't rigged, it is democracy in action.  Kat was in trouble and her fans fought the fight.   I bet Chris' fans kicked back because all the hype was on Kat and Elliott fighting for #3.   If you didn't vote for a solid 2 hours last night then you can't complain about the outcome.   I am surprised, but dialidol.com called it right.   All 4 are great in their own style.  The next two weeks will be very exciting.

I did call for 2 solid hours.  I got through once for Chris and once for Taylor.  It rang buisy the entire rest of the time.  One time I even got a number not working message.  I was hitting redial.  FIXED FIXED and NEVER watching again.

I am never going to watch another episode of this stupid show!  It is obvious that Chris is the best!  I hate Taylor Hicks who looks like he's having a seizure when he dances!  Elliot Yasmin's vibrato sound like a howling wolf at times!  Katharine Mcphee has a beautiful voice but seems to pick the worst songs to sing!  Who on this Earth voted so wrongly?!?  I voted but mine apparently didn't count!  Goodbye AI- you SUCK!

Everyone check out zabasearch.com and search for american idol or just google "american idol poll" and click the sponsored zabasearch link to the right.  It was right last week and as of 3pm today it had all the votes totalled and counted and had Chris going home.  I don't like it as much as the next person but AI is definitely not rigged.  Especially with Chris being Simon's golden boy and still going home.  He was truly shocked tonight!  It was pretty cold too how Ryan Seacrest gave Chris the news too.  Guess this is y AI is the most watched show on television.  I really thought it would be an Elliott Chris final but now I'm hoping for and Elliott Taylor.  One male AI winner in four years.  It's time for another one!!!

I won't remain anonymous. I'm a physician, and never watch TV. My sister told me to watch American Idol, and I did. Now I remember why I don't watch TV. Chris was way out of their league. And he was voted off? I'm going back to my books. I'm glad that Chris is now free from the constraints of the show and can sign any contract he wishes. I'm sure there will be many, and I'll be in the front row anticipating his next performance.

I think the world was shocked tonight. And I agree.  Kat or Elliot should have been one of the ones to go.  Who cares the style that Chris has.  He has a good voice.  Very flexible to sing different styles/types of songs.  Kat is too phoney.  She over sings most of the songs when she should just sing normal and would go much further.  But then again if you are pretty with a nice body then most listeners can tolerate the other.  I think it is fixed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  And now that the 3 remaining are just that.  Then Taylor although he isn't the best singer is the best entertainer.  Elliot...in my opinion can't sing and that is my opinion. This is why it is called reality TV.  The way the cookie crumbles.  Better isn't always the best. Don't be surprised to see the entertainer of the 3 be the winner.

I am so shocked.  Chris should not have gone home.  He is one of the best ever on IDOL...what a crock.  He will do great and I am sure some are waiting to sign him...but this really sucks.

The AI vote should be left to the judges to best ensure a proper vote. Compared to the rocker, the remaining three pale. Losing interest in AI due to credibility of results.

We were as shocked as everyone looked on that set when Chris was sent home tonight.  An amazing talent... we'll be looking for him.  Based on last night's performances, definitely... it felt like Kat's time to go.   Moving on though...we're thrilled that Taylor & Elliott are getting some notice.   I can't watch Taylor without smiling... and Elliot sang triumpantly last night.   I'm saddened by all the blog remarks about the way Taylor looks when he dances???   Are we still so fixated on what we consider "perfect"???   Look back a little... remember how Joe Cocker looked when he sang in the early days? People wondered if he was indeed "physically challenged"!  Ever watch some of the old blues guys???  It's not about perfect moves... it's about a passion & joy in entertaining that is totally infectious... and Taylor has it!   He's a wonderful role model I think... not perfect... and totally great!

That was just lousy.  Fox lost another viewer.  Who wants to see the rest be average.  The fox shock factor lost most of its viewers.  Another lousy reality show gone bad.

I have to say it's funny reading everyone's comments about how they're never watching American Idol again. This happens every year. You're all suckers for buying into the hype. You know that someone has to go home and it was a 25% chance it was your favourite this week.

Most of you will be back next week in the hopes that one of the others suffers the same fate as your favourite. Others will be back next year with a new favourite only to go through it all again. ehehehe

Despite the result, this is why we all watch Idol. For the shock. For the highs. For the lows. It's just great entertainment!

When are people going to realize that Taylor is- like 50 years old! Seriously, Katherine is the best singer of the bunch- anyone who truely loves music would know that and be able to hear her talent. I'm so happy that Katharine was not eliminated. Most of Elvis' songs are suited for male singers but at least Kat's song was fine last night. I texted my votes for almost 2 hours last night and it helped her stay. To those who really want their idols to win, support your idol by your votes. Do not complain with the result if you did not vote.  The judges help us in our decisions but the televiewers are the ones who will decide and vote.

I agree 100%. Chris is by far the most talented of these four. His career will soar, if you are a betting person I will give all comers 2 to 1 that he is the most sucessfull regardless of the dollar hipe that this show provides. He made bad choises for his songs lately but song choise is not talent. Gray hair may win but when he is the lounge act my next stop at a Holliday Inn I will get up and leave, go to my room, and puke.

think fox really need to recount..  I totally shocked also knowing Chris has gone.. WAITING FOR YOUR SOLO CDs, CHRIS... even though you not the winner!  

I text voted for Chris and Eliot last night....didn't they count...Chris and Elliot should have been the last 2 standing...I guess Taylor will win but he won't be a "real" American idol....When oh when will they let a rocker(???) be an Ameican Idol...it's very American....maybe an Afican American female rocker will finally show up next season...oh,well....gotta vote for Elliot now...

i'm watching the show from costa rica, at the other side of the world and i was rooting for CHRIS and believe me that i'm not alone here. he has so many fans in latinamerica and for us it's unbelivable that he got boot. i hope the ratings go so low that the exec's realize what a mistake has been to manipulated the votes on AI. Chris ur gonna sell MILLIONS of records and you still are my favorite!!!!! you kick ass!!!

Chris is a talented star and will shine far beyond any "American Idol"... past, present or future.  In fact, this is a blessing in disquise as I am sure there are many people out there who do not buy AL records on principle.  Even when you are as talented as Chris you still don't want to have to overcome the stigma of being a hokey American Idol.

you're right, costa rica...too bad, the voters limited for americans only... if not, the Fox will triple their profit as it seems that other countries love CHRIS so much.. he just need a good hand to give him the right songs ( and a good coreographer make him a whole package ), and CHRIS will sell millions of copies.. -- another Chris fans from Indonesia.

Sorry for the Chris fans but his vocal "range" is very limited, The second song had only 6 notes, the last 4 bars were a little higher than the rest of the song. I am a  proffesional  drummer / backingvocalist and fully agree with Simon when he told America that it was boring.

Tried to dial and vote last night. Kept getting through easily on Chris' #. I was in such disbelief, I was wondering if they allotted Chris extra lines or something due to his popularity (the other lines for other contestants were a mix of busies and votes as I checked out of curiosity).

My predictions--

Chris will be the next Clay Aiken, in the fact that he will overshadow whoever the next idol is.

Elliot is in deep trouble. Excellent singer BUT not sure how marketable he is. If producers screw him up like they did Bo Bice and take him out his element, he'll be in the bargain bin in no time. If he makes a great soul album, how many urban music fans would pick a farm boy over Usher? American Idol soul singers don't sell well. Fantasia had a great album and she's still in the 'where are they now' file. And the Velvet Teddy Bear is probably working at a Build-a-Bear workshop for minimum wage.

Taylor is the next idol... but the next McDonald? next Bolton? next Cocker? He has got serious talent. Did anyone notice for his first song how he nailed it even though his in-ear monitors flipped out as he was jigging around? How many pros would have freaked on stage at that moment?

Katherine McPhee will rule the earth. Apparently she has a deal with the devil. Great voice BUT she dropped the ball in the first song by running out of breath and forgetting lyrics. Sorry, that's go home time.

haha im sooooooo glad chris got eliminated. it was a shock tho... i think katherine is the next american idol!!! she has a beautiful voice, awesum pop look and a inspiring personality. i also think paris should still be here. my top 4 write from the start was Katherine, Kellie, Paris and Mandissa but obviously others thought not. . . .

S H O C K!!!!!!!!!!!! What are you people thinking? Pitch, timing, passion and soul! And they all have had their great moments but Chris and Elliot should have been the last ones at bat. I will buy all of Chris's CD's and will never watch idol again!- no matter how entertaining it can be at times.

I think Taylor Hicks is going to win and I have wanted him to,  But....Chris will sell music.  American Idol is now just a talant show where winning doesn't matter.  The winners will be forgotten as fast as they win and the real talent will go on.  Good luck Chris.  The American Idol ticket means NOTHING!  Chris fans should be rejoycing. I voted for Eliot because I really like his voice and his been like the perpetual underdog. However I wanted and was expecting for Chris to win overall..  Last nite I voted for my underdog to keep him from being eliminated.. I assumed Chris was safe without my vote(s). I was wrong

I think AI would be better aligned to consistent performance,  if negative voting was done instead....meaning  that we would vote for the Person(s) we wanted to leave instead..What do you think ....?

Based  on Tuesday (May 9) performance my (-) votes would have gone to McPhee..If she had been eliminated her fans would have been disappointed but not surprised..

I agree McPhee was at a disadvantage with ElvisMusic..  But that was also the case with Mandisa with country or Bucky with anything else but country

Taylor is a novelty throwback to the 70's - 80's...  I can't see him performing anything but vintage music

McPhee is a brunette Barbara Mandrell minus the hee-haw

Eliot would have great crossover appeal, but he'll need a personal trainer to buff up to perfection and a good cosmetic dentist.
