American Idol Episode 35 - Top 5 Elimination Review

Submitted by The Critic on Wed, 2006-05-03 18:36.

Last night our American Idol finalists sang two songs. One from the year of their birth and one from this week's Billboard Magazine charts. Tonight, one more will be eliminated leaving us with four.

The Top 5 will also perform a group song tonight but before the show gets started and a few more tears are shed, let's check out our weekly review of our American Idol Polls.

Everyone was kind of expecting Paris Bennett (9%) to be the one going home last week over Kellie Pickler so again I think everyone is expecting that it's her turn tonight. If not, in second place is Elliott Yamin (15%).

Chris Daughtry (28%) once again tops the poll while Taylor Hicks (25%) moves back into second place with Katharine McPhee (24%) dropping into third after last night's performance.

The "Who should be sent home" poll is quite interesting this week. While Paris Bennett (53%) is by far the favourite. Katharine, Taylor and Elliot are in a group while Chris only got 5% of the vote.

Stay tuned for details as they come to hand.

Voting numbers are only down slightly from last week's 47.5 million to 45 million. The top 5 perform Together We Are One which was performed by Delta Goodrem at the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne Australia in March.

Safe: Taylor Hicks, Chris Daughtry, Katharine McPhee

Bottom Two: Paris Bennett and Elliott Yamin

Going home: Paris Bennett

I think Paris is a fine singer but everything is coming down to the wire now and if you are disappointed about who goes home you should vote!

Chris rocks!

53% of the vote she got, the apparent favourite, clearly not. Her voice still is something I'd like to hear more - Im sure some producer will sign her.

I am sooooooo glad to see Paris leave I just didn't like her!!! My thoughts on this idol vote came out just the way I'd hope they would with Taylor,Chris & Kat all still safe!!!!! You go Chris North Carolina here for you 100 %!!!!!

Good riddance Paris.

I thought it was so sad how she tried the pickler "i'm so dum route"  she deserved to go home.

I dont know im kind of in between. I think last night paris did better than elliot.

but all togather elliot has been a better vocalist - but hes so damn boring -in my opinion-

and chris looks like a rapiest. lol

my opinion not something i want you to argue about.

and no theres not certain way a rapiest looks.

just when i look at him i think rapiest.

Your right someone will sign her.She is still very young . Singing well and experience are two different things.
