American Idol Episode 33 - Top 6 Elimination Review

Submitted by The Critic on Wed, 2006-04-26 18:12.
Andrea Bocelli

Last night our American Idol finalists sang Classic Love Songs for your vote. Tonight, one of them will miss out on a place in the Top 5 and be sent home. Andrea Bocelli Andrea Bocelli will be performing tonight as well but before we find out who is going home, let's check out our weekly review of our American Idol Polls.

Talk around the internet is that everyone is pretty much expecting Paris Bennett (5%) to be the one going home tonight and our poll agrees. In the second bottom place is Kellie Pickler (6%) who is yet to find herself near the bottom of the pack in the official results. In third place in our poll is another who has not yet been in the bottom three, Taylor Hicks (13%).

Chris Daughtry (32%) leads the charge again this week while Katharine McPhee (27%) slips into second place. Elliott Yamin (18%) finds himself in the top three after last night's performance.

When it comes down to who you want to see go home Kellie Pickler (54%) is the emphatic choice of Idolblog voters. Paris Bennett (26%) is the only other contestant that is above 6% of the vote so I think it's reasonably safe to assume that it's going to be one of these two going home tonight. Then again, we've seen strange results before on American Idol.

Stay tuned for details as they come to hand.

Last night's vote saw a record 47.5 million votes being cast which is the highest non-finale vote since American Idol began.

Safe: Taylor Hicks, Elliott Yamin, Katharine McPhee and Chris Daughtry

Bottom Two: and Paris Bennett

Going home: Kellie Pickler

Taylor is only a good kareoke singer at best and act as though he has an ego as big as a house. He needs to go

I hope Chris will win. He can sing anything: hard rock, soft rock, country and even romantic love songs. He is so versatile and his voice is unique. Katherine is not bad either, it will be between those two. Taylor is not in the same league with Chris or Catherine, neither is Paris. Elliot is somewhere in the middle.

I want Katharine McPhee to win.  She has everything going for her.  She has looks, a beautiful voice and I think she would make America proud.  Chris is ok.  He is a great singer, performer; but I don't think we need a rocker for an IDOL.  The votes are from various age groups.  Katharine has the class and my vote.

I love the voice of Elliot Yamin.

Elliot's a singer's singer. But he couldn't make it without Idol. Katherine and Chris are already stars. Idol would serve a decidedly good purpose by helping a guy with a great, great voice with maybe not rock-god good looks make it. That's the sort of Idol I could respect. My vote is for the underdog with heart: Elliot Yamin all the way.

I'm sick and tired of Taylor. Mediocre voice at best. Same old same old same old...

flagator (not verified) Tue, 2006-05-02 15:11

why would you want someone old like the old singers? this is for the up and coming singers

flagator (not verified) Tue, 2006-05-02 15:16

you are right about Taylor . He is at best a poor karaoke singer with an ego as big as the house. He needs to go now.
