Welcome to the final elimination show before the finals of American Idol get under way. A quick review of our polls finds the following. From the girls, Kinnik Sky (1%) comes in with the lowest score with Melissa McGhee (2%) coming in a close second while, in a bit of a shock, Lisa Tucker (3%) finds herself languishing at the bottom of the poll as well.

Katharine McPhee (36%) was the clear favourite this week with Mandisa Hundley (28%) and Kellie Pickler (22%) coming in at second and third while Ayla Brown (3%) and Paris Bennett (4%) also made little impact with their performances.

The bottom three girls that you wanted to see go home were Kinnik Sky (49%), Kellie Pickler (23%) and Melissa McGhee (8%).

From the boys performances last night, impressing you the least was Kevin Covais (2%) followed by Will Makar (3%) and Bucky Covington (3%).

Taylor Hicks (44%) returns to the top position pushing Chris Daughtry (24%) into second place while Ace Young (9%), Elliott Yamin (8%) and Gedeon McKinney (6%) round out the middle section.

As far as who you want to see go home, Kevin Covais (35%) and Will Makar (31%) claim the bottom spots with Gedeon McKinney (12%) in the third spot.

So who is going home tonight? Stick around and find out, Live and as it happens

Bo Bice performs The Real Thing Bo Bice - The Real Thing - The Real Thing before we find out who is going home.

The girl with the lowest number of votes is: Kinnik Sky
The guy with the lowest number of votes is: Will Makar
The girl with the second lowest number of votes is: Ayla Brown

Oh man, I did not need to see Ayla and Gedeon go...I realize what the rumor with the producer was when he expressed shock over two people going home, and they are it. Granted I didn't see them winning it, but I would gladly trade Ayla for Kellie Pickler and the soulful Gedeon for the one-tune Bucky. Stevie Wonder week is gonna show a lot for these one-genre wonders...and we'll wish we had these two back.

It is absolutely LUDICROUS that Kevin took a spot over Gedeon....It makes the case for their to be some kind of overide by unanimous vote of the judges if the jury gets it wrong....this was ridiculous...

I was also sorry to see Ayla go...I think she had a great deal of potential and certainly was not the bottom two,,,I think Kellie, while cute as pie is getting by on her story and looks and not her voice...she may be good someday but needs beaucoup lessons....Melissa could have gone instead but she really nailed it last night pretty good...I think she'll go bye bye soon, but she may rise to the occasion...Kellie should have gone instead of Ayla...Kellie is off key very frequently...oh well...that's entertainment....It is a total travesty though that Gedeon is gone over Kevin...one of the worst trade offs in American Idol!

Gedeon was dumped because of his personality.  I agree that he is quite talented and an excellent showman, even at his young age; however, his personality leaves a lot to be desired.  For instance, what we don't know about him:  Gedeon......is.....a.....artist..........................See..... this.....is......a....painting......of...the......world!......It's....also....a.....record!......An'.......it......makes ....THE.....WORLD ....go....a-ROUND!

Get serious.  He was so stuck on himself.  That's OK as long as you can hide it.  I have the same fear for Paris.  I loved her and her voice until she started into her high-maintenance-I'm-so-wonderful act.  Hide that ego or be gone!  I think the lack of ego may be what's keeping Taylor Hicks going as high as he is, too.  Same for Kellie Pickler.  You gotta hide that ugly ego thing!  As for Kevin - is he a Bevis or Butthead look-alike except extra-nerdy?  That poor kid.  I think he gets the Special Olympics vote.

Was in total shock that someone with Gedeon talent was lose out to someone like Kevin.  do America really think someone that looks like him will ever be a top selling artist in this video craze industry, I don't think so.  Gedeon voice and his showmanship is what would really sell record.  America is this some hidden  message your sending.  This choice do not make any sense.

Okay, what is up with this looser, Kevin  He can carry a tune but he is AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he sings with this lisp that is anything but idolishis.  He has an irritating personality.  It is as if he believes he has what it takes to be an Idol as well as a sex symbol?  I am an adult yet not quite a granny Simon, but even if I was I would not love this Twerpy kid.  He is what we would have called a cootie bug in school and all have ran from him.  I really lost confidence in the fairness of the show this season.  It has been so transparent how you have helped and hindered contestants by deliberately building up some like Kevin (God only knows why) and hurting others who were legitimately better and you know it!  Such as Gideon for example.  That kid was great.  Maybe a little nervous but with good reason.  Simon did everything to tear him down, from critisizing his big smile to calling him a strange little guy.  Come on and get real.  You have lost my confidence.  I feel as though your priority has changed to just making good television and that's not fair.  That kid could have gone much further and you know it !  Simon called him a "strange little guy"  but has yet to criticize the obvious strangest, homeliest, lisp singing, little twerp ever to make it on to this show.   At least William Hung knew his limitations and cashed in on being the geek that he is.

So what is up with your helping this less than the rest untalented kid who seems like he was just bussed in direct  from a school for special education. Maybe you actually feel sorry for him?  I doubt it.  It looks more like you created a buzz about him to help give the show more buzz appeal.   You know damn well how strong  media influence is and you artificially made him look good to the masses of suggestive people out there. Well I can tell you that he is one buzz I can't wait to watch get SQWASHED!   He kinda looks like a rodent don't you think?

Most importantly, I know you could have killed him early on but chose not to. Therefore because of that and your obvious reasons why I  feel the show has lost it's integrity.  Maybe finally you just got too big. If you don't keep it real you WILL lose viewers.

Taylor is so fantastic.  Paula is right that you just can't help smiling when you see him smile.  He seems so down to earth, and I hope he doesn't dye his hair!  I think he is very talented, and I hope he wins.

Have a nice day!

Oh - and let's not forget the oft repeated words of young Gedeon, "I.....got....EEE-yit!"*  If he did, at some point in time, actually have eee-yit, by making that declaration, eee-yit soon vanished.

"EEE-yit" may also be pronounced as "it."  I'm from Alabama.  It's OK for me to point these things out.
