The girls have had their turn to impress and now tonight, the final 12 remaining boys will perform in the hopes that they can win your vote.

The girls were pretty good but will Randy's assertion that the guys have themselves in the box seat ring true tonight. Let's find out!

My Thoughts: I really liked Patrick's subdued performance in the Hollywood round but this just seems a little cheesy and perhaps a little desperate. An ok performance but nothing sensational.
Paula: Stick to what you do best because you are an amazing performer. You have a niche that no one else in the competition has so stick with that.
Randy: says he felt his nerves. Once you hit it is was good.
Simon: What Paula is trying to say is that it was a great song but not for you. You look like you're missing your piano. You didn't show any star quality but I like your voice.

David Radford

My Thoughts: I don't mind a little crooning but I'm not sure I like this rendition. However David is a real performer and he is totally getting in to the song so he gets points for that.
Paula: Disagrees with Randy and says he carried on with who he is.
Randy: Randy thought it was terrible. No originality. Pitchy.
Simon: Understands where Randy was coming from but thinks the people at home will like him.

Bucky Covington

My Thoughts: Bucky is certainly no Bo Bice. There's plenty of gravel in his voice but it would probably be better spent paving roads than singing. A very average performance. I think we may have a contender for Thursday night's elimination.
Paula: You picked a good song and you're growing.
Randy: You don't need to sing so hard cause you have a nice tone.
Simon: I think you did better with the band than any other times we've heard you but I think you could hear anyone like him at any bar in America.

Will Makar

My Thoughts: I am pleasantly surprised to see Will perform tonight. He's actually a really good performer and has completely shattered my previous expectations.
Paula: Every high school girl is in love. You were adorable.
Randy: I was entertained
Simon: I was a nice looking kid, enthusiastic but vocally it was average. No one will listen back to that and go "What a great singer".

Paula: You know how good you are and you deserved to be on the stage.
Randy: You showed originality and was great in falsetto.

My Thoughts: I really like Chris. He's a fantastic performer and his voice has just enough rasp in it to really make it sound great.

Randy: That was really, really good. I think you're very current and a great recording voice. You've got it.
Simon: That was a very good choice of song. For the first time tonight I'm hearing someone with potential.

Kevin Covais

My Thoughts: Kevin Covais could very well be the next Clay Aiken. He's not what you'd expect an Idol to look like but he has a nice voice and will probably earn the underdog title which could see him go a long way.
Paula: You make me beam and you make me feel proud. You're a sheer joy and I'm very proud of you.
Randy: I really, really like you. You're such a nice honest kid and that was the bomb.
Simon: I like you but that would appeal to anyone over the age of 90 who is hard of hearing.

My Thoughts: I'm sure Gedeon is having fun with this song but quite frankly, I'm bored.
Paula: What a great surprise. You have that energy in your soul. I thought it was marvelous.

My Thoughts: Elliott is a very accomplished performer and his song choice isn't too bad but again I'm not blown away. Above average but not astoundingly wow.
Paula: What I love most about you is that it's effortless.
Randy: You sounded brilliant. You've got it and it was hot tonight.
Simon: I think potentially you are the best male vocalist we've ever had after five seasons of American Idol

My Thoughts: I can't believe we have a Las Vegas hotel performer on the American Idol stage. Oh well. I guess someone has to be first to go home. Congratulations Bobby. Now get off the stage.
Paula: We've all enjoyed your showmanship.
Randy: It's like I'm watching someone from a different era. You're more entertaining than you are vocally inspiring.
Simon: I like you but that was a complete nightmare. I think I'm with Randy on the entertaining thing but then again, horror films entertain me as well.

Ace Young

My Thoughts: This is the first performance that has really made me sit up and listen intently to the song. It's a fantastic song choice for Ace. I can see Ace going a long way in this competition.
Paula: You're a star. Those eyes, hello.
Randy: You are definitely a star working the room and the camera. You've really got it going on and you can really sing. I'm loving you!
Simon: Two other guys have sung better than you but you have the X factor and you'll absolutely sail through to the next round.

Taylor Hicks

My Thoughts: There is definitely something unique about Taylor. He's going to sail through to the finals.
Paula: Everything exudes from you and we love you and I think we saved the best for last.
Randy: You are Original with a capital O. Not sure it was the best song choice because it didn't show how talented you really are. I love you and I loved the performance.
Simon: I was wrong. What I like about you is that you're interesting. I've had more positive feedback about you than anyone else in the competition.
