Next week the drama unfolds on and off the stage as our contestants endure the rigors of Hollywood week. Tonight, the final auditions from the road and we're saved some of the best, till last.
It's not easy auditioning for American Idol. You have to hang around in lines for days and brave the elements only to be lost in a sea of ten thousand faces and everybody's there for the same reason. To be the next American Idol.
First up is a very pretty 25 year old Amy Davis from Lowell, IN who auditions with
Blue Bayou. She's prepared to work hard in Hollywood when the judges give her a golden ticket to the next phase of the competition.
20 year old Cardin Lee McKinney from Nashville, TN sings
One Night Only but is a little theatrical. No matter, she's through. She reminds me a little of Kathryn McPhee.
Someone who has sung the national anthem at Madison Square Garden is 25 year old Joanne Borgella, a plus size model from Hoboken, NJ. She auditions with
I Love You. Simon throws out another no but is once again overridden by Paula and Randy, meaning she's off to Hollywood as well.
18 year old Alesha Stelzl from Ontario, CA has one strange tone to her voice. Her first attempt at
I Surrender doesn't really impress the judges so they suggest she goes and learns a Dolly Parton song. She returns later and sings
Islands In The Stream and gets Paula and Randy's vote of confidence.
Back for another shot this year is 22 year old Chikezie Eze from Inglewood, CA who is keen to have Randy feelin' him this year with
All the Woman I Need. He's got a really nice voice and gets the nod and ticket to Hollywood.
Finally tonight, 17 year old Danny Noriega from Azusa, CA is also back for another crack at Hollywood. He sings
Proud Mary and is awesome. They really like him and his three yeses end our preview of the contestants we're expecting to see in Hollywood.
164 have made it to Hollywood. Now there are some new twists. Contestants can use intruments. And next week, we're going to hear some of the best American Idol performances, ever!
See you Tuesday
