American Idol 2008 Episode 6 Recap - Miami Auditions

Submitted by The Critic on Mon, 2008-02-04 19:44.

The Miami Vice intro to American Idol in Miami is priceless as we're treated to views of palm trees and pink flamingos while 10,000 punters stand in the Florida heat.

Miami, Florida. A Tropical hot spot with beautiful beaches, beautiful people, and all set the rhythm of the hot Latin sound. It's our first time back in Miami since season two so we're all eager to know if the next American Idol are here.

Orlando is just up the road and is home to boybands like the *NSYNC NSYNC and Backstreet Boys The Backstreet Boys. Another boyband member is 25 year old Robbie Carrico from Melbourne, FL who is now trying out some rock with Lynyrd Skynyrd - Lynyrd Skynyrd: All Time Greatest Hits - Simple Man Simple Man. They all like him and he's going through to Hollywood.

27 year old Venezuelan, Ghaleb Emachah from Miami, FL makes it through to Hollwood as well but that's after Randy agrees to put him through and Paula says yes as well despite Simon saying he only would have liked it if he wasn't sober.

Two larger than life friends who swear they were separated at birth are 20 year old Corliss Smith from Jacksonville, FL who auditions with Al Jarreau - Look to the Rainbow: Live in Europe - Take Five Take Five and Brittany Wescott who sings Mary Wells - Motown 1's - My Guy My Guy. They're both pretty good and get yeses from everyone.

21 year old Suzanne Toon from Clearwater, FL is singing for the first time in three years after getting pregnant when she was 18. She auditions with Bonnie Raitt - The Best of Bonnie Raitt - I Can't Make You Love Me I Can't Make You Love Me and they all like her and think she's become more sexy and seductive the more she sang. They give her sultry voice a golden ticket to Hollywood.

Jasmine Trias Jasmine Trias has been the best performing Asian contestant on American Idol coming third but 19 year old Ramiele Malubay from Miramar, FL wants to be the first Asian winner of American Idol. She sings Aretha Franklin - 30 Greatest Hits - (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman Natural Woman and for a tiny person she belts it out. Paula thought it was phenomenal. Simon wasn't into it so much but Paula and Randy are so she's off to Hollywood.

Day two gets off to a very good start with 20 year old Syesha Mercado from Miami, FL is a breath of fresh air as well as she revs it up with her audition of Aretha Franklin - The Best of Aretha Franklin - Think Think. They vote and she's off to Hollywood. 29 year old Natasha Blach sings Etta James - At Last! - At Last At Last and then 28 year old Ilsy Lorena Pinot sings Rihanna - Unfaithful - Single - Unfaithful Unfaithful

Seventeen people made it through to Hollywood from Miami. Next week it's Atlanta.

PLEASE, can someone please tell me the name of the song that was played (possibly over the end credits) at the end of the last American Idol show (Wednesday/episide 6)? The only words I remember are something like, "the rest of your life is before you..." Help. Anyone?
